What you should be saying is “I don’t want to support the community as I buy this character” - not “it’s $10 for a single character!?”

How much is the purchase price for kilgore currently? Looks like $10, do you see a different screen. His price is $10 right now.

No point in complaining if you ask me. Just don’t buy the character and wait for the eventual sale if you want him for cheaper. That’s what I’m doing because I see paying $10 for one character as a rip off, personally.
See, ridiculous…if Shadow made 100,000 in 3 days how long do you think a fund with no cap will last? Think for a minute, please.
I don’t feel ripped off. I get a new character and get to support Killer Instinct and the future of the game. If you and other people feel ripped off that’s ok and I can’t change that, but you can’t decide whether they ripped me or anyone else off or not. I will happily pay a little extra to support KI.

Oh I am waiting, trust me. Shago stiil isn’t sold stand alone though, so there is a part of me that is worried.
$10 to support your developer and the possibility for ki to get more content is not a lot get over yourself

I mean, yeah it’s $10 for ONE character with minimal accessories and no stage. $5 of that $10 is directly going to tournaments to help shape KI for the future.
They aren’t all down you throats by it either, believe me, some games give you 24-hours to either earn 4,500 credits, which is equivalent to 23-hours of pure gameplay to earn about 3,600 credits or pay $10 for one tiny crate. I’m referring to Gears of course.
The option is there to choose Kilgore or not, but that option is never lost. He isn’t by any means ground breaking as much as he is refreshing.
Though, I will admit that sold as a pack in terms of all three characters and Ultimates sold together would be best, alas, the cause is to further the growth of KI. Whereas with some games it’s done by greed.
But you said the case could be made if you got some in-game currency too, all while paying $10 more than you otherwise would have had it just been the character.
No, but it adds to the tourney scene. Some people value that. Some people want to support it.
Where was generosity ever implied? They want us to support the tourney scene. They never opened up the fund to “kindness of your heart” donations.
Or they could tie it to a character. What’s the big deal? You can choose to buy a character just as you can choose to buy skins. You want to choose to deprive yourself of either one, that’s your choice.
In the eyes of whom? You? I think I’ll live with the shame of wanting to support the tourney community and getting a character. You keep holding your breath though, since that’s a much less embarrassing look lol.
Character + Donation. Just because you see no value in donating, doesn’t mean it’s not there.

And yet on the stream, the words came from Keits mouth. Fifty percent goes to the community fund. Community fund announced on twitter.
It’s not the only content. The donation is half the cost. Write in a napkin if you forget it, tattoo it on your forehead, I don’t care, but this is a non-debatable fact, regardless of how much you want to deny it.
If their wallets are taking a hit, absolutely not, but if our wallets are the ones being charged extra, its aokay!
Store page has no mention of donation, thus only real item is the character itself, if half of it is going towards the tourney scene, the store page should say that. I still wouldn’t buy it, but at least then it wouldn’t be a misrepresentation of the purchase.

I do agree with you on this point though. I think this is an important detail that should be there just in case people didn’t catch the stream.

FYI: Ths KI fund is for the 2017 year, so this very well may go through the NEXT KI World Cup.
So basically we might have to wait a full year before kilgore is priced like a normal character.
