You have next to zero understanding of how game business works, and you fill that knowledge void with a lot of stupid misinformation that doesn’t help anybody. At most you might whip up an ignorant gamer fervor over MS “not spending enough”, but it won’t change anything because that isn’t how the business works, and it’ll just make the lives of developers marginally harder because they have to put up with the antics of the likes of you.

It’s also a fact that MS could’ve put more money into Solitaire. That says little about whether it makes sense for a company to set up or divert significantly more staff and support resources, which take time and cost money up front, require planning and ongoing management, and then have to be paid for and maintained indefinitely, for the sake of a project that may or may not (but in the case of KI, likely wouldn’t – but we don’t know because we have next to zero data) justify the trouble in increased revenue.
But it’s easy to snidely make “lol fail” posts on the internet and remain convinced that all of this is easy and worth it for no reason other than blind passion.

Can anyone quote one of the devs that has said that they planned to make a stage for Rash, Mira, RAAM, and Eyedol, but didn’t because time, money, and manpower had to go into the new lighting and Shadow Lords? I’m curious if any of the devs have said this, cause if they haven’t then we have no reason to believe we would’ve got those 4 stages or a 9th bonus character.

So, you didn’t read the link huh? It doesn’t say anything about Shadow Lords. Full stop. It also talks about what they have done with the lighting but never once does it say anything about cost, or that being a factor in three stages.
You guys need to stop thinking that the things people assume and then write on the forums are “evidence” of reality. You know nothing about their internal process.

I’m not picking a fight. I asked someone to give me a quote from MS saying Shadow Lords was so expensive to make they could only do three stages. You said “here” and provided an article that doesn’t do that. How is that me picking a fight? Your link doesn’t do what you claim. I’m just pointing it out because I actually clicked on it and read it. If you had done that, you too would have realized it didn’t do what you claim. Most people reading this thread won’t click on it either, so I’m just pointing it out for the benefit of society.
Now, if I had assumed that you HAD clicked on the link and called you a liar, THAT would be picking a fight. So I am, in fact, giving you the benefit of the doubt.

Damn, what a shame to see toxic people here even though others have claimed the KI community to be nice and humble. SMH
For me, the only thing that could really have it made it significantly better is if it had added 3 original characters instead of 3 guests. Don’t get me wrong, the guests are cool and all, but I’d prefer original canon KI characters. I like SL and can live with missing stages.

Dude, I’m not trying trying to be toxic, quite the opposite actually. I tried to be respectful even in disagreeing with you. I have nothing against you personally and you seem like a good guy.
I just have to shake my head a little when you say that season 3 isn’t all it could’ve been because it’s missing some stages when it already has 20+ and a bonus character when we got eight good ones.
Also, saying “it’s known that MS has a lot of money” as rationale for why MS should spend more on KI completely ignores everything I said above. It ignores reality. It ignores everything resembling sound business practice.
As a company, big or small, you have to budget, you have to weigh potential income and costs when investing capital. You can’t simply say “oh they have a lot of money, they should just throw it around like candy.”
Show me something that indicates beyond a shadow of s doubt that KI takes in so much more than it costs and I’ll be right there with ya.
Until then, you can say it’s only another X amount of dollars, but that’s X dollars you’re taking away from another game, another project, or another initiative. We all love KI, but the games division has to think big picture. All of the games, all of the projects.
All we can do is speak with our wallets. The more return on investment MS sees, the more likely they’ll be to keep investing or possibly increase funding.
