Eagle is my guess, cause im sure eagele is a guardian meant to save the world. He will use a katana , with glacius powers plus a lil of indian wrestling. The last char will be a boss like char for sure,

I actually donāt see the samurai character using a lot of Hisako animations to be honest 
Hisako uses a lot of pokes and stabs, appropriate to a spear or naginata. A katana is a slashing weapon more than a stabbing one, and is handled pretty differently from a staff weapon (hand placement, motions) as well. Her idle and walk and dash animations are also super particular to her lore and design, and Iād be very surprised to see them be recycled.
Thereās a decent chance this new character will use recycled animations of some form or another. But I gotta say, I really kind of doubt that many of those will be taken from Sako. Her influence linker is about the only move I can see making the jump.

Her rekka linkers would probably be pretty easy to change into a katana moonslashing move, IMO. As in, itād need a bit of adjusting, but Iād say itās a solid base.
Whatever the case, I just really hope the character uses a few (preferably main stance, but thatās unlikely) iaido moves. Almost certainly instant main if he does. Wonāt even be able to help myself xD
Maybe a new character with new animations?
Thatād be really cool and ideal, but not really something I personally care about very much. Animations get recycled in fighters, and people mostly just need to get over it (seriously, do you see people bitching about how Kolinās punch string looks like Ibukiās?) Itād be nice if the character was created from the ground up, but if it isnāt then thatās fine by me too.
So long as the character looks cool (I think modern samurai sounds awesome, btw) and plays well, Iāll be more than content

I donāt mind shared animation, itās the look-a-likes that bugger me. A very Iconic trait of KI is the aesthetic verity among characters.

Iām still bitching about Capcom ruining Ryuās DP. At this rate, they will just remove his Hadouken and make his Tatsumaki vulnerable to projectiles.
What if it is teasing new accessories?
It could be certain characters getting a new accessory ?
The new character has to be the āyoung aristocrat / wealthy nobleā from both Hisako and Kan Raās extended stories. āThe wealthy young manāthe son of a vicious renegade shogunābecame angry and drew his swordāāhis father was a shogun so it makes the most sense. What would he look like though? The king cursed him so he has to be a monster or ghost type character.
Lets analyze this new tease shall we?
"Blade of my father"
Whose father? Most likely Hisakoās given that itās a katana. Also, note that it says āofā which tells me it might not be her father that will be wielding it. Perhaps it was Hisakoās fatherās sword and a Guardian bonded with it. Iām not sure Hisakoās father is the one bonded to the sword given the whole Coalesced Guardian thing and Guardians were created by and served the Ichoriens. Since Guardians fight against evil and were created by the Ichoriens, Iām gonna say it wonāt be an evil character that wields the katana.
"Blade for a Guardian"
This definitely has me the most stumped. First off, it says āGuardianā with a capital āGā which would mean the Guardians that were created by the Ichoriens. Second, it says āforā and thatās what stumps me the most about this part. The katana is for a Guardian? According to the Shadow Lords dossiers, Guardians donāt do the fighting themselves, they just bond with worthy warriors and imbue them with their powers. Perhaps the part of the dossier that says āā¦a powerful metamorphosis will take place when the Guardian awakens that warriorās spirit to its true purposeā has something to do with the sword being for a Guardian. What exactly is this metamorphosis? Maybe Iām just over-analyzing this and the katana isnāt for a Guardian in the sense that a Guardian will wield it, but that itās just for a Guardian to be bonded to.
Now for the 3 words that were in the tweet.
"Protector. Gatekeeper."
If you read Tuskās extended story it says that Hisako is the last Astral Gatekeeper. Given the fact that a Guardian is bonded to the sword Iām gonna assume āGatekeeperā is referring to an Astral Gatekeeper. This katana most likely has a connection to Hisako and maybe the character that will wield it will become another Astral Gatekeeper, which makes me assume āProtectorā means a protector of balance between the Astral Plane and physical plane. This could be what the dossier means when it says āā¦the Guardian awakens the warriorās spirit to its true purposeā and the true purpose for this warrior is to be an Astral Gatekeeper.
"Rebirth."
My conclusion comes down to this 1 word. The rebirth of who? There are 2 characters I can think of that could be worthy of the katana and need to be reborn: Hisakoās father and Eagle. Hisakoās father is the easy assumption given the katanaās likely connection to Hisako and heās the one that appeared before her in spirit form to warn her about Gargos. The blade also seems to be emitting the same green mist that Hisako does.
My personal theory is that it could be Eagle given his relevance to the story and how the devs took the hint of Kilgore from the novella and made him 1 of the 3 new characters. From what Iāve heard, a Shadow Lords dossier says that Glacius took Eagle back to his crashed ship and is trying to revive him and perhaps the katana is whatās needed to revive him since Iād assume heād be very worthy of it. Iād also like to go back to the dossier that says āā¦a powerful metamorphosis will take place when the Guardian awakens that warriorās spirit to its true purposeā and point out the words āpowerfulā and āwarriorāsā. Maybe āpowerfulā implies that the metamorphosis will be powerful because the rightful owner of the katana is very strong themselves. In chapter 5 of the novella ARIA does say āHe was the best and most intelligent fighter that she had ever seen and possessed all of the traits of his warrior ancestors: intelligence, military prowess, and a mind full of strategies.ā Lastly, to me āwarriorāsā spirit implies that the rightful owner is someone that already is a warrior, which eliminates characters that arenāt a warrior. Iām also kind of expecting Eagle to be 1 of the 2 remaining new characters and if he isnāt weāre most likely getting Season 4.
Unfortunately, I lack a lot of the Shadow Lords dossiers and those could easily change my theories, but this is the best I could do with the information I have. How did I do @rukizzel? Wait, donāt tell meā¦ Stay tuned?

Eagleās spirit in a previous rendition of a fulgore, yielding a katana. Iād guess all three characters are robots, based on early renditions of fulgore units. Just a guess.
