Mortal Kombat 11

Kitana is my fav character and I’m so happy she’s not evil any more. :joy_cat:

See I thought that they censored it as a joke (and a way to include a classic brutality without having to go through extra animation stuff because crunch). Like, “We can’t show you this Brutality in HD, or it would kill you too! It’s WAY too scary! You think we could get something THAT HORRIBLE past the ESRB uncensored?! You’re insane! We gotta blur it. Only way to be safe.”

Without the blur it just looks…bad. Which honestly, makes the original “censored” one better. :joy:

BUt the itterally is no delay unless you are on wifi or get a bad connect opponent. But most of the time I never notice anything.

I agree that it was better left to the imagination.

I was on Wifi when Killer Instinct was still in its third season, no problems like that really happened. So what’s NRS’ problem?

NOt sure…didnt know they had a problem…I havent seen anyone complain about it but you? Maybe you are overreacting since you really havent tried it out enough to get a good perspective?

I thought the censorship was just a joke. Implying it’s too scary to be seen by anyone.

Online seemed to be mostly solidish around launch, but Kombat League connections have been getting a lot of complaints. Lots of 3 bars and WiFi warriors out there ruining people’s days :-p

YEah, I see a lot of people complaining about it on twitter, Facebook and here…but I myself havent had any issues. NOw Ive only played 20 msets…and Ive played plenty more just online before KL started this past week…and Ive never had an issue with online.
Ijust dont think its bad enough to be complaining about so bad that you dont play the mode at all. And there are ppl complaining when they loose and blaming it on the online when in reality…they just lost.

I guess it comes and goes. Just completed two KL sets with no hassle.

Yeah, I gotta agree. Sometimes people are so staunchly against censorship they just have to see behind the curtain, consequences be damned, even if the censorship is done for comedic effect.

That was probably the case, but it was clearly unfinished; in the old version you could see fairly well that nothing under the blur was different. Personally my only problem with the old version is that blurs hurt my eyes, so getting rid of that was an automatic plus for me. I personally would have had the old MK3 Kabal face as a flat polygon (like how MK3 Toasty is an easter egg on the tournament stage) but oh well.

Also, UMK3 did the “censored fatality” joke better with Classic Sub-Zero’s fatality being a fade-to-black effect.

Kombat League is a breath of fresh air for me. Much better than playing Towers Of Time all day. That’s just me though.

Apparently there’s a divide online between players who play on WIFI and players who play with Ethernet Connection but just aren’t ready to accept the fact the online play isn’t the same as playing offline with another player (Not CPU. CPU will only give you half the experience).

It’s sad, but oh well. Kombat League is still on and the rewards look awesome.

@G1GlaciusPrime @Fwufikins @TallerGorilla95

I think that’s why it looks bad. They censored it on purpose to give that comedy effect.

People are way, WAY overreacting about wifi connections.

Offline > Ethernet vs Ethernet > Wifi vs Ethernet > Wifi vs Wifi
Except in KI where it’s just
Offline ≥ Online

100 > 99 but 100 > 0 too. The problem with these “better than” comparisons is that, while they are true, they don’t communicate the degree or level of importance of the difference.

Yes there are people out there on janky WiFi. There are also people out there on janky Ethernet. People should get over it and just play.

I’m sure there’s a statistical correlation that would conclude that it’s more common to find poor connections connecting to wifi players than it is to connect to wired players. That said I’m inclined to agree with the sentiment that we have the technology these days where wifi is perfectly playable so there’s no reason to automatically reject wifi players. And as has been said just because someone is wired doesn’t mean their connection is good.

Also for what it’s worth at home I’ve set up a google wifi mesh network. I plug my PC straight into one of the wifi nodes. As a result I show up as wired to people who connect with me despite having no wired connectivity to my modem.

Played some KL last night for the first time. WOW was it laggy. I played about 10-12 matches. Two were so choppy they ceased being available and only two or three were relatively lag free. Never had this issue when the game first came out, though I’m sure fewer were playing at that point, perhaps? Not sure.
