Cool! That means that will won’t be like SFXT Gems then. We can breathe easier lol
I was underwhelmed. The gameplay from the trailer reminded me of Cross Tekken and Tekken Tag with the character swaps mid-combo, and I find both games pretty awful to watch.
It’s MvC so I’m hoping I’ll like it, but definitely not getting my hopes up just yet. I am excited to see Ms. Marvel though, she’s a cool character. Hopefully they pick more interesting characters to add on both sides
Looking more forward to the next season of SFV to see how they go about fixing things than this MvC Infinite title.
If we are going back to the 2v2 then I would love to have some retro MVC1 stages like the new york rooftop with spidermans web. Would be sweet.
Tonight on ESPN2 2 more characters are to be revealed for Marvel VS Capcom Infinite at 5:30pm PDT (1:30 GMT)
Captain America has been already confirmed prior on a separate write up. (I have a strong feeling Chun-li will be the other character)
Source?
I think Chun Li should sit this one out
Let Poison Cammy or Rose even Ibuki have at this game
Sorry, I didn’t mean to come across that way. Partly I’m typing on my phone so I’m not that wordy. But I admit I have some baggage about being asked to “prove” a bunch of games are coming to Xbox One ever since SFV was announced. But I apologize if it came across like I was upset with you, specifically.
The good news is it’s unambiguous and official that it will be a multi platform release. Now we just need to be anxious that 1. It is cross platform 2. There isn’t some obscure difference between the versions that gets people all riled up like the frame delay in the original PS3 release of SFIV.
It’s alright, and as someone already mentioned earlier, the same trailer appeared on Marvel’s twitter feed, and that version had all the consoles marked at the end of the trailer, whereas the PSX event trailer was a little ambiguous. Just trying to nail down confirmations and becoming educated on the subject so I can conduct an informed conversation.
As for cross platform, I doubt it.
Also, considering the Xbox One and PS4 are very similar machines as far as architecture, I’d be willing to say they will both probably be very similar in performance.
What WOULD have me concerned is if Capcom acts like Capcom again and decides to release a game that has locked disc content (ala Street Fighter x Tekken), and has the temerity to say that it’s nothing and later makes us pay extra for it, is incomplete at launch and lacking in content like SFV, has server issues, or rereleases the game 6 months down the road with more characters added instead of taking extra development time to ensure a full release product (like with vanilla and UMvC3). I don’t have confidence in Capcom to make a game anymore without doing something that you can only slam your palm in your face and shout as loud as you can “WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!”
That seems like a good idea. I wouldn’t mind this one bit. I’m also kinda hoping they cap the number of shotos at a low number.
Yeah, I don’t think you will see on disc DLC because they realize they got nailed for that and because patches and digital distribution are so much more common now. But I have some sympathy for them actually. They have to make money somehow and the Japanese companies are struggling with the exchange rate and a culture where, admirably, you don’t just lay everybody off if you have a bad quarter. Fighting games are not mainstream as much as we would like them to be. So the model has always been to keep getting more money from the same group of players over and over - hence all the iterative sequels and reusing if sprites all through the 90s and 2000s. Now it looks like the model is release a game and then sell additional characters for it.
Long respone but TL;DR I would expect less content at launch than MvC3 and a similar season pass/DLC program as for SFV. The good news is Marvel has made it clear there will be a story so that is likely to be included at launch.
What if this whole game is a sign that we’ll see megaman and ryu in the marvel movies? :o
#Mega Man confirmed for Avengers: Infinite War
Captain America’s new design look good!
If anyone saw on tv it was Morrigan and Captain America. Also Megaman X can switch into his upgraded armor form
I think I finally figured out what bugs me about the look of this game. They’re not trying to imitate a comic book art style. In the older games you had the 2D sprites drawn in the comic book art style, then MvC3 had that comic book cell shaded look to it, but this game is simply 3D models with nothing done to make them look comic book-y.
yeah i get what you mean. i was hoping this was a beta-■■■-beta teaser trailer and the look would get refined but alas they are already showing off 2 more charecters.
funny enough after watching the second trailer it feels as if its ryu and X that feel really pasty/plasticy with no dynamic lighting while ironman and captain marvel look better. X could probably be excused because he is a robot and etc. but idk something about the way those look…it feels like a nice looking picture but somehow someone accidently turned off all the black line borders in the picture so there is no proper seperation of color showing where a specific color shade ended
I’m warming up to captain marvel.
She’s like a mix of Storm Rogue and Phoenix altogether.
Binary form Mohawk!
Yeah, I think probably the best thing about MvC3 is the cell shaded (ish) style of the 3D models. Capt. America is clearly supposed to be MCU Cap here, which is different. But I wouldn’t freak out just yet, since there’s plenty of time to change effects. Remember when SF IV was announced and they said the ink effects were only for the trailer? They went back and added them in because people liked them so much.
Also, Max has posted a reaction video. He sees a lot of “borrowed” animation and moves from UMvC3, leading him to conclude that they will be able to jam a lot of characters into the game right away. I’m curious how people feel about that. It’s very much in the tradition of the vs. series - which up until MvC3 was using the same sprites they started with from the Darkstalkers, Alpha, and X-men games everywhere they could get away with it. But if people think a new KI character reuses a heavy kick the freak the ■■■■ out. So, how would people feel about sacrificing originality for a larger MvC infinite roster that amounts to just retooling characters from MvC3? There was a pretty negative reaction to the addition of SF x Tekken characters to SF IV for this reason, so I’m going to guess people won’t love it.
New video with Captain America and Morrigan near the end.
This would be my ideal MvC Infinite trailer scene.
