Respectable.
Yeah I’m the same way with top 32s but in my case it’s more of an “Aww Hell, here comes a piping hot ■■■ kicking,” moment lol.
Pretty much, I just cringe and accept the inevitable ■■■-kicking so I can go back to playing people who’re actually at my skill level.
For the most part, it depends on how people actually play the character.
My groaning usually begins during the match, not before.
Aganos and Omen. Both not listed but I hate both with a passion. Both have cost me quite a few promotion matches.
Also, Jago as he takes so much life away from Aria..for free ![]()
My opinion as well. I look at the name first before the character. Though, there are certain match-ups I don’t look forward to like Hisako, Gargos or Eyedol in current form.
I can see what you mean. The thought experiment here is meant to control for player skill and focus just on what it’s like facing a character (imagine the same top 32 badass switches to a new character every match–which character scares you the most?). To me, for example, Silver Shadow Jagos are almost always more challenging than Silver Tusks. The same is the case in Killer and Top 32–Top 32 Shagos are always scarier than Top 32 Jagos. Shago on the VS screen just makes my butt pucker a little. The twitch-react-guess-which-side-I’m-on-or-you’re-dead playstyle stresses me out more than most others.
RASH, Sadira, and Hisako…oh and Gargos. UGHHHHHHHHHH
Sadira is horrible. Not only to play against but even when she comes up in stream watching tournaments and such. The constant jumping and squeaky noises makes for a boring and annoying match to play and watch. Even high level players can’t make her fun to watch.
I’m a Glacius main,I hate seeing Kan-ta. Frustrating to fight really good players that always have bugs out non-stop, and not the kind of players who back away releasing bugs in the air and ground. I met this one really good Kan-ra player who was close to me almost the whole match. It was like every move he did canceled into bugs.
Gotta agree with Dranyamarel, for the same reasons too. Glacius main going up against Kan-Ra can be a tough fight. If they’re close in, they can catch you off-guard with bugs or the command grab. If they’re keeping their distance, they can do some good chip damage with bugs, sandtraps, etc.
However, Kan-Ra isn’t my most hatred match-up, it’s actually Sadira. Good character, but a bit too annoying to deal with when my Shatter isn’t worth much because she’s in the air and she’s just throwing knives at me from above and bouncing back away from me. I know that a quick Puddle Punch solves it, but it doesn’t change the fact that a lot of Sadiras that I’ve fought in the past use the same trick over and over.

Something you might consider is calling Hail as a shield against her aerial advances. She’ll have to land as long as one his held above your head. As she lands, you can release heavy Hail to catch her or, if you’re feeling really badass, you can catch her with a shatter.
I haven’t played Glacius in awhile, but that used to work for me back when I mained him. Well, not so much the Shatter catching part. Timing and spacing it correctly can get really tricky.
