When will we get some info about upcoming ultimates / season 4

So that means they’ll be broken up into several installments, that’s cool.

Just reeeeeaalllly hoping that we don’t see Ultimate pack one $4.99 come February.

I mean… @RGLOfficial/ @GalacticGeek and I had this convo earlier last year.

Without de-railing the thread too much:

Basically as consumers we’re not supposed to care how much work is put in a product. When we buy it we don’t care how much work and time and money is supposed went in.

I disagree.

Making this Ultimate took a huge amount of money and work into. In Fact forget the Ultimate think about this game in general.

And I like that.

But most consumers just care about what they want. Not matter how they get it

Answer 1: 2.
Answer 2: Most of them were based off a special move (not all but most) I.e Riptors cobra acid spit.

It’s also unlikely we will get two ultimates per character anyway.

Well, there you go.

I have already put tons of cash into this game, im NOT putting in more for a feature they left out in the first place. An ultimate is a scripted animation… WITH some motions that already exist… NOT a new character. They dont need that much money for animating them.

(If they were released for 4.99 for a SINGLE pack of ALL of them… I might change my mind depending on the quality and quantity of them.)

I’m no developer. But I don’t think it’s that simple…

You potray yourself as a spoiled kid with issues

Did you even watch the ultimates we have seen already? Neither of them have any reused animations, if even if some look similar.

Left out? The game was developed was developed in a single year. If only had 6 characters and stages. Do you really think they couldve put in ultimates without sacrificing something important?

Animation is hard, dude. It’s hard.

for spending over $200 on a single game? Sure.

Another thing to think about…

Some of us have bought every Ultra edition… Which means we went above and beyond to pay for tons of extras. All those extras are a pretty decent compensation for an extra $20, right?

Well, now it looks like those extras are slowly all becoming unlockable in-game.

If they were unlockable from the start, i think i can say confidently that most of us would have skipped the $20 charge and just unlocked them through playing.

So those extras no longer have the exclusive, rewarding feeling any more now that they are technically free to people who play a lot.

I will say this only once.

You bought the game early, and as a result paid more for it, and you have years of experience with the game that nobody else had.

Never use the excuse “I paid more for this game therefore I deserve more” you got what you paid for deal with it.

There’s a trailer for ultimates?

The “now is cheap, but I paid it when it was expensive, so I deserve more” always baffled me

Every game gets cheaper with the time. If you don’t like spending that amount of money, just wait

I probably will wait until Injustice 2 is below the 50 € mark, dlc included, because I don’t agree with their price politics

Rukizzel is the next character.

In all honesty for the sake of game fairness no move in the game should be tethered to a price tag. If there is even the slightest chance of one player having an advantage over another in the form of a DLC bundle that is absolute BS (in vanilla KI, SL MP doesn’t count)

Imagine this scenario (it may actually be further up in this thread…I’ve mentioned it before):

You are playing at a friend’s house or somewhere that is not your home XB1/PC, and you are playing, and you get a chance to do an ultimate…but that XB1 doesn’t have the required DLC and instead of an ultimate you get a LP or LK that causes a KV spinout, or maybe a throw attempt when your opponent is in hitstun…and that’s all the window he needs and next thing you know he has beat you because you were unable to seal the deal…because the match-ending move you thought you could do wasn’t available. I’m sure any reasonable person on the receiving end of this would rightly call BS. It can happen.

…imagine if this happened at a tournament…

…Also a failed dlc check might hinder ultimates, or online authentication…there are so many things I could think of that would cause an Ultimate fail not produced by player ineptitude.

Now if they do something like make 1 free and another paid, and they both use the same input (maybe choose like a outfit piece) or if they add in the standard Ultra cancel as a substitute if you don’t have the Ultimate, that would be fine…still wouldn’t care for the price tag but fine.

“But if they were free how would they get paid for their work?” you might ask. I could be wrong, but I believe that is what the shadow lords packs/KIgold were made for…to provide them with a continuous income stream so they can fund the creation of other parts of the game and not necessarily charge for every tiny piece.

We want a developer supported…

So we buy lots of things.

Those “things” become valueless later on.

Developer then asks us to pay for more useless things again.

So the solution proposed is… “Dont buy the new things”

Which then causes the developer to not be supported.

Which hurts the game.

How about finding a break in that hurtful system??? Im not saying i have any clear answer, but i DO know that i would gladly pay for polish, tournament scene support, and any thing else that benefits the CORE game, or the community.

I know it would never actually HAPPEN, but i would PAY for a “polish pack”, even though i can no longer play as much as i used to.

@zdhome, please don’t start worrying about something until it’s actually a thing, or else you’re just giving yourself unneeded stress.

Yup, my point clearly sailed right over your head.

Um… The good netcode, S1 story mode, and ultras were.

Nope.
