We support the fourth season and the future of KI!

Tell all that to the people who thought killer instinct was dead without all returning characters. Including eyedol.
Do you know how many people responded that Maya Kim Wu & tusk were the most boring of characters and didnt need to be in the new game? Try again.

Just because you think it doesn’t need ultimates, doesn’t mean there are not millions who don’t agree

It’s never one person’s decision. It’s the popular vote. And it was included on the survey. So

I just want more Killer Instinct, period. Whether it be more Shadow Lords content, more skins/accessories, or at best, Season 4. I feel that KI is the absolute best fighting game available right now (MKX a close second) with the absolute best character design the fighting game genre has ever seen. I want more of this incredible story they are writing, hopefully the comic book series arrives soon. I think IG has some exciting stuff planned for us.

When is 3.5 supposed to come out? Is that the one with eyedoll for shadow Lords?

I hope it will be this week before thanksgiving!

Of course, for that reason I said that that was my opinion.

It’s always a matter of opinions. This is mine, and if you have another it’s perfectly ok.

But I can’t understand people who claim “devs are not listening because they don’t put more stages or ultimates”. Its your preferences, not facts

People think Ultimates will make everyone happy. Some aren’t happy. I want to remove the checking downloadable content screen. Everyone will be happy.

There will be a season 4. I can bet KI world cup will announce it cuz that survey was not for nothing. This may surely be the last season too. Just my opionion

sometime around thanksgiven. My bet is before november 24.

if they could make it stealthy would be great.

no please!!! no new KI game. KI is not Assassin’s creed. KI can grow again and again. new stages, new characters and finishing moves.

Exactly, ki is the LoL of fighting games. They dont need to make a new game every three years, they can just keep updating the content in the game with new characters and mechanics like they do now.

I mean what would a new ki do anyways that a patch wouldnt for the current ki?

Im looking forward to the next season. Im switching over to jago to learn the game but everybody has that character they want to be known for and jagos a bit crowded. Itd be nice to pick from a fresh batch of characters.

A new engine could mean better optimization. Meaning better animations, and better graphics. Built from the ground up by Iron Galaxy would mean they would know how they can build on top of previous features, as well as developing new ones. Could be easier to implement and require less time in the long run.

LoL has a lot of things wrong with its spaghetti code. They finally upgraded the adobe air launcher they were using for the longest time, and it still has the old bugs with the store and champ select. Things are still rigged in weird ways like lots of abilities being coded as minions, and sometimes given impassable hitboxes making pathing mess up.

I’m not saying that it’s the better option but you can’t deny that it would probably be a boon in the long run.

UE4 is an amazing engine. I’ve spent the better part of 2 years messing with it, and it’s so intuitive that I’ve been able to make, albeit crappy, small mobile-like games. And I know jack ■■■■ about game design. That’s just me ■■■■■■■ around with options and the “non-coder” setup.

I really don’t want another KI game anytime soon, we barely managed to get the full roster in-game as it is and Eyedol barely made it. I don’t want to have to complian all over again until he makes it into the next game…

Just give the current KI a total overhaul on a new engine or something, give it a remake, whatever you do it doesn’t need another sequel. Not yet at least, the game was built as a DLC platform and there’s no reason to jump ship yet.

Not really true. That we didn’t know he was going to be in until the very end, does not mean that he wasn’t scheduled to be part of the game from the outset of S3 (which is obviously the case, every developer will have a plan for its game way before any other work even begins) or even from the inception of the game.
I didn’t care for the multiple threads complaining about Eyedol, and I don’t want a repeat of that so I’d like to clear it up.

I’m an Eyedol long time supporter, and I would like to state something:

-Eyedol was planned since the announcement of S3. We didn’t knew until the end, thanks to a masterpiece trolling from @TempusChaoti. You are a genius :stuck_out_tongue: You really got us.
-I NEVER stated something like “without Eyedol KI is no KI” or something like that. That’s ■■■■■■■■■ They are the devs: at the end, they can put whoever they want. Sure, they want to make us happy, but is not a matter of me or (insert Eyedol hater here) is right, is a matter of making a good game. If Eyedol wouldn’t be part of S3, I would be sadder, of course, but I would be happy with the rest of the game anyway
-Threads complaining about Eyedol not being in the game was ■■■■■■■■■ they were Hysteria. End of the line. They were out of the scale. The same applies to threads/topics asking for him NOT being in the game. It was unjustified hate.

100% agree

a new KI? be anxious and wait for another time that all the characters come back? I think I could give up my love for KI. and if love is broken, ending passion.

So KI won’t be KI until you can combo in to Mortal Kombat fatalities that actually won’t be fatalities at all since this is a T rated game? Well, okay, if that’s what you really want, that’s fine. I’m just not sure why that’s such a big deal for some people, but to each his own.

Personally, I enjoy this game a lot in part because of the content delivery mechanism. As much as I hated the idea before the game launched, actually experiencing it has been amazing. I got to know those original six characters much more than I otherwise would have and the same goes for each character we’ve had since.

I’ve really liked being able to learn a little bit of a new character and having to enjoy and appreciate them as an individual experience and feel the excitement of anticipating the next character or bit of content and constantly having that “more to come” feeling down the road for the last three years. Wondering what cool stuff they’ll do next is part of what keeps me coming back.

Now, the next KI can go one of two ways:

-Normal retail release: Personally, I don’t love the idea right now. For one thing, we’d have to wait for a whole new game, which could be years, but I also don’t love the idea of getting an entire roster of characters that I don’t know when I’ve been able to learn each character one at a time in the current game.

Looking back on it now, I kinda feel like one of the reasons why I didn’t stick with MKX all that long in spite of being a huge MK fan since the original was that it was just too daunting to learn such a large roster of characters and then variations on those characters. I could never escape the feeling that picking one variation on one character and practicing with it meant neglecting such a massive amount of possibilities in the rest of the roster and all of their variations or feeling like I’d never know anything about the game because there was just too much to learn.

Sure, for people that zero in on a main in KI and ignore the other twenty something characters, I’m sure this isn’t quite as big of a deal, but still, if you play at a relatively high level, you’re telling people to start over from scratch, not just in a “they changed a few things and now my main feels different” kind of way, but in a “this is a completely new character way.” So obviously a new game would effect casuals and hardcore players alike.

There’s also the fact that if they do it this way, a significant portion of fan feedback during the process would likely be cut out of the equation. Sure, they can do surveys and they can view responses to whatever content they want to show, but at the end of the day, they’re going to release a whole, complete product as opposed to continuously updating during the process of releasing smaller bits of content and I’d have to think that would have an effect on how much our input goes in to their thought process and how responsive they can ultimately be in the game itself.

-Continued seasonal approach: As much as I don’t love the other idea, I can honestly say I’m not a fan of this at all. We have an amazing game already that many of us have put years worth of time in to and now we’d have to start over with eight characters, wondering who will return and who won’t, because you know those people saying “it’s not KI without Eyedol or Ultimates” or whatever will be saying the exact same thing about every single character, mechanic, and mode in the current KI.

I mean, if people feel like this KI has some issues with being disjoined from one season to the next, I fail to see how giving us this model again would alleviate those issues. Yeah, MS had two different companies working on the game, so I suppose character designs might be more similar, I guess? I dunno, that doesn’t really seem to me like a great reason to drop this game and start over.

Now, I get it, we’ll have to move on eventually. But what is honestly propelling people to move on right now? We have a great thing here. Are graphics really that important? If MS/IG said that they would undertake a project ala stage relighting to fix some characters faces, hair, retros etc, would that put your mind at ease on the current product, or are you really convinced that Unreal 4 or anything else MS/IG could use on a sequel would be so far above and beyond what we currently have that you’d rather drop the current game?

Do you think that a new KI game will bring some sort of press or audience in that the current KI doesn’t? I’ve heard people say this before and I’m not convinced. I don’t see how a new KI season announced at E3 garners any less attention than a new KI game announced at E3.

Maybe they make something that’s more of a fluid vision if it’s a game and not a seasonal model, but even then, what if I don’t like that fluid vision and what if they don’t update the game the way they update this game?

I know, that’s all the possible downsides and there could just as easily be upsides. A new game could be much better than what we currently have. That’s certainly possible. I guess when it comes down to it though, I really like what this game has an does, and I have yet to hear a single reason why this needs a sequel and why that’s a better idea than new content for this game.

They’ve said that they’ll keep making content until we don’t want it. I still want it.

Bring on season 4.

[/quote]Regardless of when they planned to add him and the circumstances of how we had to support his addition, starting a new game means that characters will likely be excluded. We’ve all fought hard for the inclusion of all cast members.

I don’t see characters like Shago or Omen making it into a new game. Every sequel has some characters who are left behind.

Then people would complain because they are not in.

I mean, are Blanka, Honda, Sagat or Sakura in SFV? Well, that’s the future of an hypotetic sequel

I wish next game they bring out a “Akuma” into the next game.

This KI is definitive. all the characters in the saga are present. Now is the time to focus on the look and content.
a new season can also bring only 4 new characters, but what is important are the stages, the feeling of playing in new places, new environments. and finishing moves that renew the gameplay.
