i dont think that is need to Brandom alexander to donate $10,000 more to be at evo, because he alredy did great for the KIWCUP what about to put that amount of money to the KIWCUP that will be much better, microsoft do not have a appropiate support for KI, and is the community that is kipping the game I live of course who dont want to have KI at EVO, but lets face reality Pokken is in first place and MVC3 in second so i think will be a better idea if he still want to put that $10,000 in to make it to EVO instead, put it in to the KIWCUP.

I’d love to see KI at EVO. I sent a tweet letting them know that my only motivation to watch EVO is Ki. But I’m not going to cry if it’s not there or go nuts trying to lobby for it. The most EVO does for me is give me a few hours of entertainment for basically a weekend. So I will put in as much afford as it’s worth to me.
The people who care more (or who get more out of it) should do what they can. But honestly I’m getting a bit tired of being nagged about this as if KI at EVO was the capstone of world peace.

I disagree actually. EVO is the superbowl of fighting games. It will generate the most hype and prestige for our game. KIWC in reality will not even cut half the traction that event will get. The exposure is faith that KILLER INSTINCT will continue for many MANY YEARS TO COME. I don’t blame you if you personally don’t want to donate, but to denounce the IMPORTANCE of KI AT EVO 2017 is a catastrophic mistake my friend.

PiggybackING dul’so sentiment, Brandon himself is willing to donate the max because even with all his hard work with the KIWC, he truly understands that EVO simply do more for his game than his own event and he doesn’t want to give up without a fight! It’s worth it to him! And that’s a beautiful thing! I myself have known that I’m super obsessed about KI, but I now know that I’m super passionate to see it succeed too, especially when we have a direct opportunity to make an impact!
There is no need for to say you are sorry for being Harsh. It is easy to lose your thought process by trying to be nice about it. I respect blunt and forward people. “Less mind games to figure out”
Ok, players aside. Do you really think they are going to spend alot of time showing KI? They are going to show the games the draw in the biggest groups. The games that are on the main list are the ones that will get tv time. Paying to get this game in the tournament is like the ugly kid trying to bribe his way into a party. Does Xbox have any games there now, or would KI be the only one?
I know it might be mean, but thinking having KI at EVO is going to do all these things for the KI community is just wishful thinking. Certain people already know if there will be an S4, and EVO will not change that.
@DeathBlooms2K8. Just because it is on ESPN does not mean their will be some big thing happen for KI. The game that makes it due to the donations will be shown on tv real quick why they say " game “x” made it this year due to an outstanding charity donation" then they willing move on and that will be it.
Now is this on ESPN 8 “The Ocho”?

Only SFV Top 8 will be aired on ESPN. Not even part of the discussion.
It’s about mainstage stream time. We hit main stage, we get stream time, we get exposure. That’s pretty much the whole thing. It just so happens that mainstage at EVO is kind of like the seal-of-approval for the genre.

Wow, that seems sort of shady. I guess Sony is paying ESPN to run it then. That might be cheaper than a SFV commercial on prime time TV.

Well said, and I agree. Those that are going to EVO and competing need to be the main contributors.
For some reason I feel its currently the other way around. Those that are diehards that watch from home will be the deciding factor.

I don’t disagree. EVO used to be a celebration of the genre (for the most part) and it’s communities. Now that it’s become it’s own corporate entity, it is largely a way for Joey Cuellar to turn a profit. It’s still the world’s largest, most prominent and prestigious FG tournament, but the almighty dollar presides.
To answer a few of your other points -

We already laid out that we WON’T be televised, but if we were, that unto itself would be HUGE for KI, considering MS does virtually nothing to advertise it.
It’s sorta hard being such a fan of this game. It’s not just the red-headed stepchild of the genre, it’s neglected by it’s own platform.
