That said, glad to see that things will be free, and I’m hoping that more than just 15 characters will be getting ultimates. I’m willing to do whatever it takes to keep the game and the series alive, so fight on!
5 Ultimates coming in just about 10 days. I can’t wait to see Maya’s, TJ’s and Tusk’s. AND they’re free! I already bought Kilgore, so in return for this I will go and buy the skins packs. Thanks IG, you never cease to amaze.
I would love to see Gargos’s Ultimate be him grabbing his opponent and then hurling the both of them into a portal way above the earth, then show Gargos doing his spinning into the full wings out pose he does in this SL win ending and just watching his opponent drift off towards the Earth.
That would be epic.
Yeah that flavor added a lot to its appeal, IMO.
The optimist in me thinks 15 means 5 from each season. If they base the picks on the most-played characters from each season, there’s a good chance many of our favorites will get picked 
Since there are three guests in S3, I’ll bet all of the KI-native characters in S3 get ultimates.
Hmm does it cost more to add new things? I notice everything “new” that is released is just exsiting assets with a closer camera. I’m asking as someone who doesn’t know.Not being a jerk.
It’s not about how much something costs the company. It’s about how much people are willing to pay for it. In this case, it’s also about how much goodwill can be preserved or gained by offering the thing for free.
Just had a talk with one of my friends about the Ultimate. He’s amazed by it! He’s an MKX guy, so he’s hopping in the KI Wagon now! Woo!
Disappointed that Orchid wasn’t included in the 5 Ultimate Master pack. She’s just as popular. Of all the characters that are in dire need of an combat update, she barely misses the mark by being #6. And since we’re talking about updates, I really am holding out for some hope that the dev team brings back her Helicopter leg spin from KI2. It’s just so BADASS!

My friend told me he thought the ultimate was boring… which is why I’m going to keep doing it again and again, since he can never get me off the first life bar. 
And your friend is right, let’s admit it, Jago and Thunder’s Ultimates looks like an extended combo ender when you filled the combo bar rather than the cherry on the cake to finish a combat… ok… the huge Endokuken and the storm of crow part looks good… but… the rest of the Ultimate? no impact-dramatism as something like an Ultimate should have, at least Jago’s started with the meh part but ended in a climax with the Endokuken… Thunder was like a woah at the beginning with the storm of crows but then the mood was killed with 2 movements you can do while fighting…
I wish Iron Galaxy would give the Ultimates a bit more of time to improve… and I’d love to know if doing an Ultimate we’ll have both shadow bars filled automatically, I only do Ultras to get both shadow bars for the next round, if cancelling the Ultra to do an Ultimate makes me miss the chance to fill the shadow bars, then Ultimates are useless to me… maybe filling both shadow and instinct bar, please, Iron Galaxy?.
Umm…I’m assuming you’re talking about Shadow Lords right?
Yes, it’s the only place where an Ultra has a meaning, not counting saving 3-4 hits plus ender to K.O. the adversary, because it’s a waste of time that you could be using to play few more matches or anything else.
Oh ok then. Since you didn’t immediately specify SL in your last post I had first assumed you meant in a regular match which in that case I would had went “WTH”.
I was thinking just now, can we safely assume that Riptor and Aganos wont be getting Ultimate? Their win animations are basically finishers:
Riptor chews victim, presumably opponent.
Aganos buries opponent most likely.
You’re right, I should have mentioned it even if it’s the only place you can keep the shadow meter after a fight with multiple advesaries.
I think this is pretty much the case - 15 for the moment/this month etc and the rest due at a later date. I’m curious to see how many more players (if any) try out other characters in ranked to use the ultimates, though given there’s no actual worth to using them other than prestige in a way kinda sucks if I’m honest. The reason I tried to get Shago’s ultimate in the first place was because there was an achievement associated with it. They could add it in later though theoretically at least anyway.
But interested to see who the other 10 are. I’d kind of liked to see no more ultimates until the actual day, so I’m probably not going to watch the videos from now on until I get to try them at least against a CPU opponent.
Thanks for making them free and purchasable from Xbox.com as well as the in-game store, that’s a great way to make it more accessible for those who can’t use the in-game method of purchase of free content.
Now all I’d like to see is an unlock for Astral Plane via Boss Shadow Jago as well as SL as that’s the only unlock that’s useful to those of us without sight that we can’t get due to SL’s inaccessibility at the current time.

Honestly, I hadn’t thought of it like that until you said it. But it kind of makes sense. Would like to see new characters get an ultimate though where possible.
Riptor could Ultimately roast the victim and then it’ll taste better in the winning animation… Aganos buries the opponent as you said, after it’s K.O., as a sign of respect, anyone could do that, well… except Riptor, she would fill her belly with that Ultimate Roasting Finisher.

Don’t be, it’s my bad, I know not everyone plays Shadow Lords and wouldn’t have that in mind… but I want my extra instinct bar and full shadow meter for every Ultimate I do. 
I forgot survival mode also keeps the shadow meter, what an advantage-blessing is doing an Ultra after a fight.
