Ultimates are coming!

You do know they didn’t have to give us ultimates. Let alone for free just to please the fans.

Oh for real aw shucks

Jumping the gun much? they said at the momwnt, that means we can still get more. We should probably push and make sure they get everyone an Ultimate.

This kind of what my list would be to. But we’ll find out sooner or later.

I’d say you guys should go ahead and work toards that, just do 15 for now and do the rest later. Obviously putting in Ultimates is stilla new thing for you guys, but like everything else once you guys get the hang of it, you tend to master it. I’ve seen IG do harder things before.

By aiming for all characters you’ll certainly please the community.

DId you notice how nobody liked your post (as of this reply)? I think there’s a reason for that, perhaps?

As far as Thunder’s ultimate, I’m digging it. I originally said (prior to the reveal) that I hope they didn’t use the crows, as that would be better reserved for a character like Raam, with his kryll, and that they use the lightning instead. After seeing the reveal of Thunder’s ultimate, I realized that IG used both elements, and to absolutely great affect - that crow-rush into intimidating stare was awesome, as was the final, and electrifying, crushing blow. Smart use of the camera-work to deal with the different character height (the assumption that he’s hovering with the crows is not too much of a stretch, IMO, either), BTW.

My only complaint is that it appears to be shorter than others we have seen thus far. Can we expect the other ultimates to be just as short as this 1, or a bit longer like with those of Jago and Shago?

As for there only being 15, that’s kind of a bummer. Waiting to see who gets 1 and who doesn’t is going to drive the fans nuts with speculation - it’s actually a smart move, when you think about it. As with everyone, I’m cheering for my main (Aganos in my case), but I’m doubtful simply because I think my main’s overall size might present itself as a challenging technical issue, animation-wise. Then again, I have been known to be wrong.

Oh, and I almost forgot - they’re free! W00t! Thank you, Ken Lobb!

I liked his post so…

I think a better way of putting that is you don’t have to pay extra. Only the “free” characters’ ultimates will be free. Everyone else you have to pay for the character first.

Yeah, well, that’s why I put into parenthesis, as of this reply, which makes my point still valid - so there! :unamused:

@WrathOfFulgore Technically, no character is “free” when you look at the individual character purchases and game as a whole. With that in mind, it’s probably best to say that they are free, provided you already have those specific characters.

I’m trying to refrain from using the word ‘entitled’ here, but perhaps you should consider that none of us knows what is happening behind the scenes and what kind of resources were available. Perhaps getting these in there for free was a bigger feat that you might assume given the realities of game development.

Definitelly I will buy him as a way to say “thak you” for ultimates!!!

I imagine ultimately any continued support would depend on sales and in-game purchases. I’m sure they’ll have plenty of sales and usage data to evaluate after their release.

Despite not liking the skin pack pricing, I’ll probably cave and spend a couple more bucks on one with my most played character after their release as a way to support the continued efforts.

Q: Will 1 or 2 of the 15 ultimates be for either of the 2 remaining unreleased characters?

Who cares what RGL thinks…I dont… why do you care? He rarely plays KI anymore, and hasnt been a part of the forums in ■■■■ near a year. WHO CARES!

I’m not a betting man, but if I was, I’d place all my money that Gargos is totally getting an Ultimate.

Why? If only to make losing to him in Shadow Lords all the saltier, of course! :fries:

PS. Crosses fingers that Riptor, Sabrewulf, and/or Eyedol gets an Ultimate

I got my Kilgore unit on Day One, and I hope the money from the Terror Pack I bought earlier this week goes to good use too! :green_heart: Thanks for the Ultimates!

Really? I didn’t know.

Hmm does it cost more to add new things? I notice everything “new” that is released is just exsiting assets with a closer camera. I’m asking as someone who doesn’t know. Not being a jerk.

Even if there were no physical costs whatsoever, employees do get paid a salary and that costs money. And even if they were paid the same no matter what they do, then time is a finite and (very!) limited resource. The time it takes to implement one thing comes at the opportunity cost of implementing something else, or (for a larger company) the opportunity cost of that employee contributing on a different project or product. Or depending on the feature, the company may have to hire new employees or hire a contractor to implement what they want done (in this case the salaries of these new people are pretty much a cost). In terms of game development, no, it doesn’t DIRECTLY cost anything to add new assets (as in “costs” like the cost of materials or purchasing something from someone) , but it does cost time/money to have artists, designers, animators, modelers, and developers add new things to a product.
