Well you need to be more clear cause all it sounded like was more visible/explicit/more hardcore death. Why donât you make suggestions for the next set of Ultimates and maybe while youâre at it, give us YOUR idea how youâd of liked these current Ultimates to go?
Youâre spending a lot of time parsing words and accusing people of not reading. But here is what you have directly asked for in this thread:
Hard to read this and not get the impression you want to see knives going into peoples eyeballs⊠but just in case it was unclear:
Making it abundantly clear and also citing the game you later claim is a good example as something lame that KI is already paired with.
Regarding Tusk
You can dance around saying âoh thatâs not what I meantâ but what you are clearly asking for is more gore. Just stop. Youâre in a cycle of inconsistent arguing with everyone and slowly talking yourself further and further into irrelevance by being obstinate. You want more gore. It doesnât matter what synonym you use. You donât want âcharred bodiesâ meaning cartoonish burnt bodies. You want burned skeletons like that scene in Star Wars no one ever talks about. Thatâs fine. But donât act like anyone suggesting you want gore isnât paying attention. Thatâs ridiculous.
No sarcasm intended but Iâm curious to know just what is your vision of how the current ultimates and future ones should have been then? Maybe in another thread perhaps. Examples are appreciated.
I personally donât care if its violent.we already have a game that does that. I use to think it was budget restraints, cause that is the excuse people would use for everything. I now feel that it has to do more with talent. I believe in the right hands, more could be done, even using existing animations. Would be cool if there was a spectator mode, where players could zoon and rotate the camera like DOA4. I bet some of you could piece together some really cool stuff.
Seeing Tuskâs sword go through his opponent isnât gore. Seeing their guts falling out after would be a different story. I never said I wanted MKX level gore, but I still want the ultimates to be brutal. Thatâs why I used MKvsDCU as an example. Losers are killed, but the violence is tame - no copious amounts of blood and gore. So far, two of the new ultimates are questionable whether the loser actually dies - Combo and Thunder.
Again, why do you need confirmation of death? Maybe theyâre not killers - did you ever stop to think about that? I mean come on, theyâre the good guys, and not all good guys kill.
You do but others donât. Personally, I donât want that. The devs donât either. If they wanted to show it, they wouldâve. They didnât though. Ever heard of a decision called implied death?
I actually like the idea of off-screen implied deaths. These ultimates are a great test run for the concept. Mayaâs ultimate is my favorite by far, and thereâs a real art to not seeing characterse die, but having the gory details left to the imagination. In that respect, I think it would be cool if the developers drew some inspiration from horror film directors on managing effective, bone-chilling off screen deaths to make them more visceral without changing the general concept.
I can agree and while I do enjoy blood and gore, KI has soo many more good things about it that we donât need to see someone getting gutted and have their organs pulled out to be a good death scene.
All things considerd if this is one way they can make it happen, I say go for it.
