Ultimates are coming!

Either one of these would be great.

So are movies and not all of them have on-screen deaths to make them great. The Dark Knight is a great example - the pencil trick, a man burning alive on top of his money, a shotgun to the face, an exploding woman, etc. And you know what? It was still a great film.

As for the word killer in the title - it’s an adjective that’s merely describing the other word in the title, instinct. It doesn’t necessarily mean that they are all killers.

One key difference. You have to work for your rewards in video games. More so in fighting games. If I’ve defeated my opponent and earned the right to finish them off, I want to see it.

And directors have to work to grab their audience. It’s no different.

You earned the right to finish them off but where did you earn the right to see it?

I saw it - I used my imagination.

Yeah. I don’t like the gore. I didn’t use my imagination to see it. Win win situation

At this point we are all arguing with one guy who, prior to his involvement in this thread, had only ever posted about how terrible it was that KI had no finishers, how he hadnt played in a year and how he probably wouldn’t buy Season 3. This isn’t really a conversation worth having…

It isn’t worth having but it is still fun XD

That somehow makes my opinion worth less than any other member? Riiiiiiight…

Apparently I was worth looking up.

Hey @VladKravich, is there a statement you want to make with regard to the SCV critical arts? I’m seeing a bunch of non-finishers that make the Ultimates look like brutal and creative masterpieces… but I’m guessing that isn’t the point you’re trying to make.

Your opinion is fine. But your posting history is instructive. You have one issue that you care about and this is it. You don’t seem to have much interest in the rest of the game. So it speaks to the futility of trying to convince you.

SCV ruined that series for me…

Convince me of what? That the ultimates so far aren’t disappointing? I’m not the only one who feels the same. Go look at the YouTube comments on these videos. Not much love there either.

You rely on YouTube comments?

BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

It’s off topic but I find it hard to argue. It somehow took the most beautifully fluid fighter in history and made it kind of janky. And I will never understand Namco’s fascination with swapping out characters for new models that fight with the same moves…

I wanted to like it. I loved SC1-2, and IV (I was late to the PS party so I missed 3). I actually still own the SCV disc because I rarely get rid of fighting games. But it was just meh.

And, to pretend I’m even slightly on topic, those critical arts were not only uninspired, they were kind of a lousy game mechanic as well. Closer to a SF Super than a finishing move but not as useful.

Look at some of those finishers, some include impalements (raphael’s) without gore and yet the the game is rated T. I’m sure KI can do the same and of course, better. Ezio’s includes shooting the opponent, it’s violent but not gory, that’s my point.

It already does.

Didn’t say it already doesn’t.
