The stage looks alright, but honestly, I really wish we got a remade version of his stage from Killer Instinct 2 (Arcade, not Gold).
I’m fine with this if that’s the final version. I just hope his music will be on par with his classic one.
I honestly don’t remember what the difference was between Tusk’s KI2 stage and his KI Gold stage, but from what I’m picturing in my mind, I’d LOVE to see his classic arena redone as part of a stage pack either for the community fund or the ultra pack.
I’d say that one, Kim Wu’s, Sabrewulf’s original KI and either Cinder’s or Orchid’s original KI stages. Any of those would be awesome, and given the three stage announcement reaction, I’d be shocked if a classic stage pack wouldn’t be at or near the top of a lot of fans wishlists for either community fund or ultra pack.
Tusk’s KI Gold stage was just a 2D rendition of his KI2 stage.

Great stage though, overall. It’d be pretty awesome if they could redo some classic stages (especially Tusk’s) as a separate, paid DLC type of deal. I’m guessing that’s probably not in the cards given how expensive stages seem to be from everything I’ve read lately.
No, KI2 stages were pre-rendered & basically worked like a slide show that would change the image as you moved left to right or vice versa. The N64 couldn’t handle that because it wasn’t designed to utilize sprite-based graphics well, so they made a 3d version using polygons. The downside was that it looked worse, but using the 3d graphics on the N64 they were able to use some dynamic camera work that the arcade version couldn’t.
I’m so glad they didn’t. Conflating Stonehenge and similar Neolithic structures with Celts and Vikings is ■■■■■■■ infuriating, and needs to stop.
Also the setting they chose for Tusk’s stage, the frozen wastes at the rim of the world, is an awesome landscape and one which is really appropriate for Tusk. I could almost imagine that Gargos has made his lair beyond the Northern waves, where he has begun a ritual to bring about the world’s end, the world is in turmoil, those who dare to defy him have fallen on the path…and here is our great hero, in the last hour, steadfast in his resolve and boldly gearing up to cross the waves.

The funny thing is all those tree-hugging, modern day Druids claim it is their own place of worship and pilgrimage, yet it out dates the Druids by hundreds, if not thousands of years. They go there every year for the solstice yet that’s not what it was built for.

Haven’t seen the full stage yet but I’m not a huge fan. Too similar to Glacius+Spinal arenas.
Meh… Kinda disapointed by the resemblance with Spinal’s… I know devs are rooting for scandinavian feeling, but i miss the previsous “conanesque” version of Tusk. And the bit we have heard about the music make me feel unconfortable about it two.
Quite disapointed by the character, but i’m waiting for the trailer for giving a more definitive impression.
This is the best video of Tusks stage that I have seen so far, as it goes right to the end of the fight. The stage looks really nice in this.
I would suggest muting the video though before you start watching.
It was nice of them to use his old music during the video. Sadly, his new music is some godawful butt metal. I was saddened to hear his stage music sounding like a bad high school band with the same generic beat we’ve heard in a million other crappy metal songs.

That alternate color is bad. Green hair? grey tatoo? No change in skin tone? Not good at all.
Yeah, I noticed the greenish hair. They are probably still working on his colours etc. I’m sure it will look better on release.
