Hi I’m posting regarding a problem i’m having with the steam version of the game. at first after the new update I hadn’t been running into any problems, unfortunately after about 2 weeks of enjoying the new update the game refuses to start anymore.
As soon as I try and start the game a small window pops up with the KI logo and then immediately closes, I’m not sure as to what the problem is and have tried various different methods to fix this including uncheckmarking the anniversary dlc, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, trying to validate my files, and even trying the proposed change on one of the steam forums telling me to log in and out of steam, I’m not sure what to do at this point and am wondering if others are running into this issue, and if so are there any solutions I’m missing?
sounds like you did all the troubleshooting steps- Logging out of Steam restarting. It is a key one first upgrading to anniversary edition if you’re having issues.
can you confirm what version of windows you’re using?
I’m using Windows 11 it came pre-installed on this computer
Did this start when Anniversary Edition first came out (11/28/23) or did it work & then stop recently?

I have lost all character level progress in the Steam version of the game and I am reaching out to see if there is a work around recovering lost progress. For my case, my last recorded session took place on Dec 29th, 2023 and just today[Jan 5th, 2024] I relaunched the game to find all character level’s reset to zero. I searched the Steam forums for any solutions and found I was not the only person running into this situation. I was eventually pushed here to reach out out it.
I noticed another user had posted the same issue here and am hoping that their conflict was resolved?

I’ve been reluctant to post this one here cause it’s such an unimportant issue and I’ve brought it up in other threads before that I don’t think were ever seen, but I guess I’ll mention it one last time. It’s been an issue since either the Eagle update or maybe even the Shin Hisako one, it’s been a long time either way.
Rash’s battlemaniac combo doesn’t function properly when you have shadow. Without shadow it’s still fine (lp, lp, lp, lp, ender.) But when you have one bar of shadow it’s supposed to be lp, lp, lp, lp, Shadow battering ram, ender. Instead it goes lp, lp, lp, lp, shadow battering ram, low auto double. When you have two bars of shadow it’s supposed to go lp, lp, lp, lp, shadow battering ram, shadow big bad boot. Instead it does the same thing that one bar does (lp, lp, lp, lp, Shadow battering ram, low auto double.)
Obviously this is only a combo you’d ever want to use against coms, but I’d still love to see its functionality restored. I think it was James Goddard who said in an interview that the purpose of the combo was to let you feel like you’re actually playing Battletoads when you mash the low button, and as a Battletoads die hard I miss that a lot.
This same thing happens when you use lk instead of lp. I could probably attach a video if that would help, but it wouldn’t be particularly interesting haha. Just video of dropped combos that are easy to replicate.
Anyway, sorry for bringing this one up again. If it can’t be addressed I’ll live with it.

Hi KI Support. I’ve Played for many years but in my Xbox Series S the game is crashing SO MUCH, eight a ten times ALL DAY. It starts to get slow and out of nowhere it closes, but I noticed some details:
- only when playing online, it seems that there is some inconsistency during match or users with wifi can affect my performance.
- the game starts to slow down as if it were a memory error, I need to restart the console to get it stable again.
It’s unplayable online, in ranked always lose the match and points for disconnection because the game crash and close.
Another bug in Series S is related to sound, the game say “Combo Breaker” but I input the Counter Breaker and sound for this command is listened. Maybe some delay input or recognize for game. Some ultra combos behavior are the same, for example I Ending the combo for command with wall splat, the game say “Over” but I use a shadow move and connect the Ultra and when ending transition fast to Ending Scene.
Furthermore, I checked some bugs in the intro & ending for some characters like Kim Wu and Gargos. See links for video files below:

Hey, thank you for your response! Combo assist was off and to be honest I have never thought to attempt it with combo assist on before. I wish I could hop on and try that just to see but sadly I’m away from home for a few days so it’ll be a while before I can experiment with that. Sorry I can’t be more helpful at the moment but I really appreciate you hearing me out!
I been playing shadow survival on the windows version to get shadow points and there were weird things i noticed. When i skipped tiers to 1000p the game didn’t use any of shadow points to do it. If i lose the 1st match, there be no change to my shadow points. Also anytime i win in this tier i only get 500 shadow points.
