I wonder if this is a joke. It just doesn’t match Mike’s voice. The character select call-outs are fine, but leave everything else alone (if this is real).

yeah that announcement did sound weird, didnt fit at all. hope this a temporary sound until the real one is added.
Mike isn’t the announcer anymore. He’s been gone since like mid season 2 I believe

That is true, Chris (og) is the only announcer on the project now. That new “Fake Mike” voice is probably a filter they are using to replicate “Real Mike” voice. They are going overboard with the filtration, kinda makes “Fake Mike” sound like a man in excruciating pain from a bad case of hemorrhoids 24 hours after receiving a colonoscopy.
It also seems very out of place and cheesy. I mean “Stage Ultra!” doesn’t that seem a little, redundant? And “crater!”…
I’m not sure what to think anymore, part of me wants to believe it’s a joke or april fools tomfoolery, but another part of me is starting to think they are intentionally making the game visually look like a cheesy 90’s parody.
Why would they joke about something like that?
That is exactly my point and the concerning aspect of the situation for most people posting “negatively”

Why would it be that if no one’s getting knocked off of anything? 
I imagine Mike is probably gonna sound weird because the original’s gone. Wish LCD could/would show us the Chris and ARIA versions.
i have to admit this is one of the few things that the team has done that i have not liked. would have preferred just the ultra ultra ultra echo

this. the ultra echo is better than the awkward stage ultra and i think there could be a much better word to use that cratered. especially since the airplane doesnt even make a dent in the ground lol
Glad you like it, however, the general consensus going by the youtube comments and posts here on this forum indicate the majority think it’s pretty bad. Maybe opinions will change when more people see it but for now, theres no deflecting or hiding the issue, people aren’t liking it (Just like the majority don’t like the level 4 enders as seen by polls and community backlash from casual and competitive players alike)
It’s not even about “Breaking the game” or “sounding hype”. It is obviously misplaced, poorly executed, and tawdry like the “level 4 enders” and the “purple haze all in my brain”. Makes the game look tacky as hell, like I said, I think they might be deliberately trying to make it look like a 90’s trope/parody

Super awkward, guys. Doesn’t sound right at all. I was confused as to what he was saying after the Stage Ultra bit, seems its “Cratered”. Not sure why, not really sure I like it. I know like everything else, its a WIP and so a couple of suggestions to make this constructive.
- Keep just the Ultra bit, have different words for the Stage Ultra replacing the Supreme/Awesome Victory screen. For example, Kan-Ra’s stage could say “Banished”, Hisako’s stage could say “Kutabare” (apparently means go to hell in Japanese) etc.
- Keep it as it is, just make it more menacing. No need to stretch it out, just a sort of growled out “Stage Ultra” might be good

…wasn’t KI released in the 90’s and a parody of literally everything that was released in the 90’s?
