Backdash and whiff punish the throw attempt?
you cant back dash an overhead jump pizza cutter attack?
No, I mean backdash the throw attempt after you block the jumping attack. Since you say best option is to tech the throw but that simply returns you both to neutral, dodging it with a backdash lets you punish.
Ahhh okā¦let me try that! thanks!
What happens if the S.Jago player is like me and likes to do pizza cutter twice, or teleport behind after pizza cutter, or slides, or shoots a fireball? If you play with a character with a decent back-step, like Orchid or Cinder, this might put you out of range of grab, but you can still get hit with something else if the S.Jago player is a thinker. Itās a tricky situation in any case, but low risk yields low reward.
But Jago is So unsafe in EVERYTHING without meter. And he isnāt that hard to block. 90% of the time I can block a Surged Slide. Trust me guys, itās not that bad.
If Iām not mistaken, TJās go-to AA is his cyclone. Itās pretty solid, but will of course lose to meaty jump-ins, as do all non-invincible reversals on wakeup.
Ok, thanks will give it a try soon.
I was playing against BlazeDeathBlade in Ranked and he was using Shago and once his Surge meter filled up, it never depleted. He was able to continuously spam that unreactible teleport attack surge cancel throws and such over and over again without the meter ever being depleted. Am I missing something? I thought Surge was to enhance attacks, but if you use the enhancement it has to be refilled?
Iāve fought many a Shago, but Iāve never seen one who was able to continuously use Surgeā¦ Iām going to rewatch some of the fights.
Anybody else see anything like this?
Well you donāt need a full shadow meter for surge attacks, only a half meter. If the opponent plays aggresively and confirms lots of attacks, those go along way toward building that half. Also, If he used instinct meter the way it should be used (with dark tether), a lot of the surge meter would have come from your shadow meter.
Man, thereās a LOT of hate in this thread for Shadow Jago.
Guys, keep in mind that his fireballs do no damage, so walking and blocking is an option whether itās fun or not. Shadow Jago has no safe approach options at all from mid-screen range or further. And most people online just yolo dark annihilation without realizing I can just hold up. That move is very hard to use on reaction to a majority of a characters arsenal of moves.
When I fight him with Glacius, walk and block/liquidize. When I play Cinder, itās much more annoying to get in on him, but I can burn his arms.
Use your characterās tools wisely and be patient. Then Shago will be nothing.
Also you can Shadow Counter Shagoās jumping Hp.
This. People love to complain and turn a blind eye to the truth (especially when itās in plain sight).
The truth about Shago is that Shago ālooksā OP but isnāt. I mean you still have to be careful with TJ Combo players who have a full Instinct Meter just in case you try and go for an Ultimate.
That outcome has yet to be fixed.
Hi Shadow Jago is cancer
Have a nice day ^^
Iāve played Shago quite abit of times. Admittedly Shago is a highly offens based character and he has a lot of ways f moving in on you. Wise players will know what to do against him.
For some folks this is understandably frustrating. But really against a shago character itās best to hold down the fort and strike him when he does a move that makes him open.
Sabrewulf can make or break this match-up depending on he plays. If he waits for a bit and gets an opening he could destroy Shago.
But thatās just one example.
I think this character is gonna make me quit the game, thatās so bad like Riptor, Kan-Ra, Glacius, Hisako, Aganosā¦ Damn thatās a lot, maybe KI is not for me ^^
I hate when gimmicks > skill in fighting games, but who care lol.
Weāll see in Season 3 Kappa
Then you should be fine with Shago and with KI. Unless of course by āgimmicksā you mean anything you donāt know how to beat and by āskillā you mean your unleveled up play style.
Shagoās not that hard to beat.
100% agree with you. I have yet to lose to a spamming shago, the only ones Iāve lost to did insane combos and juggles and made me feel like ā ā ā ā with my shago. So I essentially tried mimicking their combos and added them to my list of combos and can use shago a hell of a lot better than I used to.
Shago is incredibly hard to beat when youāre actually playing against somebody who has mastered how to use him. Iāve said this once, and Iāll say it again, he gets surge way too easy. Iāve had entire fights with Shagos doing nothing but Surge attacks, and very little of their meter was used, and if it was, they got it back within seconds. Whether this was intended or not, is yet to be seen, but heās like a Spinal with unlimited skulls.
Your common regular Shago is not difficult, but once you start fighting advanced players, its a whole different story.
I certainly think there are a few small things they could tweak about him, and some of that is going to happen come Season 3.
Is Shago broken?
No.
BUT, that doesnāt mean that there arenāt things about him that need to be tweaked to make him truly balanced.
Am I one of the those advanced annoying shagos?
But I agree, although I main Shago, i can see it being infuriating trying to deal with this guy surging around while doing cross ups, fireballs everywhere and ect. The best solution I can see is making a surged move cost a tad bit more than it currently does. Besides that tweak, I think heād be balanced well enough.
