Did they say that no one else will ever have an Ultimate or that he’s the only one that has one so far? I’d be kinda surprised if it were the former and not the latter…
Not gonna lie, the air was let out of my tires when they said he’s the only character with an Ultimate. I want Cinder to have one too. Darn.
I admit, I am severely dissapointed with no Ultimates for everyone, BUT Shago and that what we had wasn’t an Ultimate originally. You guys really did have the answer at first bit seemed like it was just athrow.
Looks like there is no real alternative to triple Ultras… how upsetting. Kinda killed the hype for me. Was REALLY hoping we’d get an good alternative to Ultras that were not restricted. Looks like that’s a no go what a let-down.
On the other hand Shago looks great. and he looks awesome. So yeah. I wished you guys had actually tried it that way.

Pretty sure the words I heard were “Shadow Jago is the only character in this game who has an Ultimate” and not “who will ever have an Ultimate.”
But I also don’t think Ultimates are as big a deal as most people here seem to.

Hey, check it out real quick to see if I’m seeing things, but, is the Instinct meter flashing white everytime the characters get hit? Like, in the course to getting filled up, is it flashing white?
Yeah that’s more what I was wondering since I didn’t hear what they said exactly. If they said that he’s the only character that has one, that certainly doesn’t mean that others wont at some point. They obviously know how to black out a screen so he can do his anywhere. I can’t imagine they’d just leave a different match ender exclusive to one character.
A small part of me would like to think this would but At the moment I am feeling less optimistic.
I disagree. An Ultimate would be a good alternative to those over-blown triple ultras and a hell of alot more satisfying than Ultra enders, and if they had done Ultimates in the way they would with Shago’s “special throw” they could of easily done it with all stages. The solution is staring them in the face! So it couldn’t be restricted to just only their stage and may be even less so than Stage Ultras. It was a feature I was really hoping to return in KI but it’s safe to say all I have left is the same Ultra-combo I’ve seen a thousand times already.
Looks the only way to get a satisfying victory now are just triple-ultras. You may not consider it as a big deal, but I feel it was a waste of a chance to add a uniqe way of finishing off your enemy outside of the typical rapid-punch and kick.
I have no plans of stoping in playing KI, but I feel like they dropped the ball. If only Shago has an Ultimate then technically Ultimates have not been made a thing.
I apologize for my long rants, I’m just dissapointed right now, I’ll probably cool off later on, but I admit I am pretty sour.

Twitch this is what we have so far.
I will say this- if they decide to give Ultimates to more than just Shadow Jago, I expect all characters from all seasons to receive one. I don’t like how the vast majority of S2 characters got recaptures without many S1 characters getting to use the new mechanic as well.
As a S1 main, I don’t want to see S1 characters (and now S2) miss out on new cool mechanics just because they weren’t introduced until Season 3.

As in, currently, As in, for now.
IG hasn’t let me down before, they won’t do it now.
Plus, I also don’t care about ultimates lol.

With that stagger mechanic, I think something as simple as that is probably going to be applied to the S1 and 2 characters. I am willing to believe though, they have something bigger in store as far as new mechanics of season 3.
Also, did anyone notice the instinct meter flashing white as the characters took damage?
Oh yeah, I’m sure. I’d be completely shocked if only season three characters got them. That’d be like giving half the cast ultras. That’s just something that every character should have.
With recaptures, I’m trying to recall, but I don’t think that every season 2 character got one, did they? As for season one, I know Sabrewulf and Orchid got one… Can’t recall about anyone else though. The distribution of recaptures could’ve been a bit better, but I don’t think that’s something that every character had to have. Just my opinion though.
He looks awesome and has 9 colours, but looks to have no accessories. Missed opportunity right there. I’ll be honest was kinda hoping get that the big mechanic would be ultimate’s. They have the system and the rules for it in place.

I agree with you, I’m also hoping this will be the case. But I admit the way recapture expanded to be extremely prominent among the S2 cast and only given to (two?) S1 characters has me concerned that prior seasons might be SOL when it comes to new mechanics introduced in S3. I’m sure we’ll learn more about all that when they start to release actual Season 3 information in a month or two.
But her’es the difference between an UItimate and a recapture. You can still BREAK IT! so it’s not like S1 characters are in THAT heavy a disadvantage. Ultimates are something that can serve as a reward for a supreme victory with any character you have.
It’s still really upsetting and just killed this whole hype for me.

You may not but it was something I was waiting for since season 1. Because I’m tired of Ultras, Ultra-Enders, and stage-Ultras are just far and few between to be viable alternative.
They have a solution with that special throw of Shago’s so really there doesn’t seem to be any reason for them to not try it for the other characters. The major feature I was looking forward to in season 3 is pretty much gone now. Still lookin forward to season 3 but not quite as optimistic about it as I was before.

Yea I noticed this during the stream too. I like it, makes it more obvious the bar is increasing, was a bit hard to tell before. It also kinda looked like the combo breaker notifications weren’t on screen for as long, but I could’ve been imagining that one.
Yea until I hear them say specifically they will not be adding Ultimates to other characters in Season 3, I’ll be holding on to hope!
