Everyone is over analyzing the Shin Hisako name. True, God, Chiharu. Let’s be real here. The guys at Microsoft were probably like

Adam:“We need a name for this char”

Ruk:“How about Chiharu, it makes sense cannon wise.”

Keits:“How about Shin Hisako.”

Adam:“YOU"RE A GENIOUS.”

Ruk:“THAT SOUNDS BADASS forgt the cannon.”

Adam:“Alright lets finish these donuts and go make fun of Sharepoint.”

It’s not super hard though. Where once there was the Vengeful Spirit, the Vengeful and Spirit parts have been separated into different entities.

Now Shin Hisako is the spirit, free from her worldly burden. The being we knew as Hisako is vengeance incarnate, a being composed of the wrath the spirit once held, a golem of the powerful hatred the now cleansed Shin Hisako left behind.

By this logic, Jago became superfluous (and should have ceased to exist as a playable character) the moment Shadow Jago became a thing, let alone Omen.

Nope. The difference is shago are being possessed. Not the same spirit splited into two different individuals coexisting at the same time. Its like some hyperdimensional thing. But its hard to think Hisako still around as she has RESSURECTED. This is too over the top for me. Would be neat for a new KI game. You can always play Jago Vs shago but anyway.

The spirit after the death… was Chiharu. Chiharu’s spirit. She was more commonly referred to as Hisako, as per those generations after her that didn’t know her specifics. Hisako is also the title she was referred to by as a guardian. So if she is Chiharu, but referred to as Hisako as a defender and takes on a more purified form to serve as a better defender, would we not still call her Hisako?

Am I missing something?
