Yeah, I’m still not seeing where any of this suggests Shin Hisako is any form of “union” between her (dead, desiccated, EDIT: cremated) body and her soul (what we know as “Hisako”). If anything, the flavor text suggests that whatever “bound” Hisako to Chiharu has been cut.
There’s no reanimated Chiharu from what I’m seeing - this is the guardian/noble nature of Hisako (Chiharu’s soul) being fully realized. The girl herself is dead and remains so; Shin Hisako is no longer tied to Chiharu and the way she died.

Gotta say with how disappointed I am with this choice I have a feeling the last character probably won’t be eagle now either.

Who said the 3 new characters we’re getting (Kilgore, Shin Hisako, and whoever the 3rd is) have anything to do with the survey?
The spirit after her death, took the name hisako. It is also everything that was lost after she saw her father. So the hisako-part (hisako we know, the vengeful one) of chiharu’s story finished. And then we have shin hisako??? the true vengeful spirit of chiharu?? That would have been if her father made her even more crazy. No, we have shin chiharu, the immortal warrior. The relieved one.
Okay, so Chiharu’s body was burned and buried, so then Hisako came into existence over her village and grave. She became Shin Hisako once she transcended past her rage and rengence.
So basically, Hisako is a happy girl now
It’s not complicated. You ever seen a story where the vengeful ghost finds resolution then goes to heaven? Basically the same thing here, except the ghost sticks around to beat people up more.

This shouldnt happen till new KI. Its like playing a beta of her new self for a new KI game. Wrong man just wrong how they brought this character right now. Unless the time travel thing.. Ughh. But anyway doesnt fit in this current installment of KI.
Anyway, if I’m right about this, does that mean old!Hisako is going to become a villain? All the anger, but none of the purpose and goodwill.
And who said the survey was pointless? We don’t know what else is planned for KI in the future, so there’s no basis to say the survey was pointless. Also, what did you expect from another remix character? Of course they’re gonna be “economical” making another remix character, a character that isn’t part of Season 3.
You guys seems to dont know what a soul really is. Enough its just a remix without the need of consistency.
Everyone is over analyzing the Shin Hisako name. True, God, Chiharu. Let’s be real here. The guys at Microsoft were probably like
Adam:“We need a name for this char”
Ruk:“How about Chiharu, it makes sense cannon wise.”
Keits:“How about Shin Hisako.”
Adam:“YOU"RE A GENIOUS.”
Ruk:“THAT SOUNDS BADASS forgt the cannon.”
Adam:“Alright lets finish these donuts and go make fun of Sharepoint.”

Can’t she be some kind of good counterpart to Gargos, “an angelic” celestial being ? Current Hisako could still be the guardian of the gate, because Shin Hisako would have created another being (so season 2 Hisako) for this purpose, similar to what Gargos did with Omen.
I mean, I know they are implying Hisako transformed after finding the katana, but this way, we could have both Hisako relevant in the story.
Speak for yourself, please. There’s no “we” there.

After reading the cremation part, I’m doubling down on the other post I made that apparently would’ve earned me more prizes.
The spirit is still Hisako, the true Hisako. But the anger itself is so great that even after it was separated from its vessel it managed to maintain its power. Kinda like how Shago continued to exist after Omen exited Jago by leaching the combined powers of his “parents”.
although the latest american godzilla seems much more badass 
By this logic, Jago became superfluous (and should have ceased to exist as a playable character) the moment Shadow Jago became a thing, let alone Omen.
The hills people choose to die on here still amaze me.

This is sort of the process. Except I play the role of forum troll (honestly a lot of my job is predicting how you will react and adjusting accordingly). Our writer, Noble, is a brilliiant mind whose creative prowess knows no limits. Adam makes sure it all flows for game design’s sake.
