Yeah, i do not know if mediterranean god energy is green. Most likely it looks like an oxide or evil energy or something. I know that is the colour he allways had, still i wanted it to be changed. Anyway, he looks great.
I believe his projectiles have always been green, if I’m not mistaken. I know they have been since MK2, at least. I believe they were in MK1 as well.
I know his shadow kick has had a red variant before, but I’m assuming they go with green because that’s simply what he’s always had. It’d be kinda like making Sonya’s rings blue or green when they’ve always been pink. Sure, you could do that, but some would think it’s odd and there’s really no real reason to change it.
Cage looks like a LOT of fun! Love the variety with the stunt double. They didn’t even show off the camera flash and the sunglasses throw, which makes me wonder what other stuff we haven’t seen yet from other characters. That alone has me hyped.
One quick thing that they talked about, which I actually think is a pretty big deal and pretty awesome is that they actually changed all of the amplify moves so it’s right bumper or R1 for EVERY amplify. They also said that the timing on them is rather loose.
I’m SO glad they went this route instead of having the individual button presses/moves for each individual amplify. That was honestly the biggest thing I was worried about with this game, so I’m definitely happy.
Seeing the belt battle right now and WOW does Jade look amazing. Such a cool look for her with the green head wrap. This is probably my favorite look for her, perhaps of all time. Just a really cool style for her.
You know, last knight I had a dream that the reveal character was Hsu Hao’s brother Hsu Rao. I remember Ed Boon saying something like “You all hate Hsu Hao, but wait till you see his brother” or something like that. He threw tiny knives. That’s all I can remember.
Hsu Rao confirmed? lol
Well it’s nice to know that we’re seeing Kano next week, though Tyler did say that they had something else, so I don’t know if that means another reveal, perhaps? Seems like they’re not overly consistent since we got Jade’s reveal and Baraka’s breakdown two weeks ago, but this week was all about Johnny, so who knows. Guess we’ll find out next Wednesday (confirmed).
Trying to remember. He kind of looked like… he had a darker more realistic skin tone… he had Kano’s MKX beard… a full head of hair… and he was wearing green military camo. Like, completely covered. I think he was also supposed to be like, a heroic character. And he threw tiny knives that turned into razor blades and could do Cyber-Sub’s MK9 fatality.
Dreams are weird.
Told you it’s not that deep lol. Shirtless Cage is always here.
I just wish it was his primary, you know. His current primary is kind of… boring.
Oh well…Alts are a thing. But anyways…Andrew Bowen has done it again!!
Cool that amplify is RB/R1 (Whatever the right bumper is)!
Hopefully I can play it with my Fightstick. NRS games, especially MK have been kinda brutal to play since you need to hold a button to block. I don’t want to have to stretch my finger at all times to block you know?
If not, oh well. Back to pad!
It’s funny you say that. I learned MK in the arcades (arkades?) so holding block is actually much more intuitive for me on the stick. But NRS has really tailored the modern games buttons for game pad so there are a lot of things - like the multibutton throw and super/xray layout that I find more challenging.
I would like the inputs to be customizable and instead directions i would like a special move button to exist. So intead of <,> + A it would be LT + A.
How do you play on stick Andy? Do you switch up the buttons? I have trouble playing on stick. I know that Xray was always a problem for me, and sometimes when trying to meter burn things.
For NRS I do switch up the buttons. I set it up like old school MK with block in the middle and low punch and high punch in the left side and high kick and low kick on the right. This generally means, on an Xbox foght stick:
A = attack 1
X = attack 2
RB = attack 3
RY = attack 4
Y= block
B I will sometimes set to be throw or else a
Duplicate block but I don’t use it. If there’s a run button it goes there or alternately I can shift everything one button right and put run in A. With this setup, throws can be done with A+RB (if memory serves) and the XRay is Y+RB+RT. Awkward but achievable.
I’m sure there are better layouts but I play on stocks for nostalgia, not because it makes me a better player. And this is most like the MK arcade layout.
Edit: Injustice has an even weirder more awkward setup. I generally do light medium heavy across the top (X Y RB), put meter burn on A and special power on B.
All NRD games since MK9 are buggy with custom configurations and if you start playing online multiplayer even though it says you are using your custom buttons it sets them to default. So you have to first do a single player or practice round, “change” the buttons to what you already have them set to and then go into online. It’s weird am annoying and it’s been the same for four straight games.
@TheNinjaOstrich I guess it’s worth mentioning that middle finger always rests on the block button. You control both kicks with your ring finger and both punches with your pointer and thumb. Meter burning low kick moves is therefore hardest but not terrible.
Ok! Thank you for the advice and help Andy! Hopefully this works!
Now all I have to do is fix my stick a bit, because it sticks in a direction for a bit, even when the stick is in a neutral position until I push literally anything on my stick.
I don’t know that this is the most efficient button layout or what the pros would recommend, but it is functional. And again, it replicates the old arcade layout.
Ive always dreamt of a foot controller for the block button…LOL..kind of like playing guitar with an effects pedal or drums
Have you guys seen this yet?
