Yeah I think Johnny looks good. Pretty safe as far as the gameplay - it doesn’t seem like many huge changes, but they’ve changed the aesthetic of his projectiles and his animations do look better. Love the fatality.
He looks like John Barrowman.
Am I the only one who’s upset that they keep covering up his torso? That chest tattoo is his icon. We should be able to see it.

I think they did a fantastic job with Johnny! Sure, his default look is a bit too similar to his somewhat bland MKX look, but it’s actually not too bad, plus I’m sure there will be plenty of ways to make him look cooler.
As for his moveset, I love the unique touches they put in there such as the stunt double, the sunglasses throw, the freakin Ninja Mime counter he has and that camera flash. Also looks like he maaaaybe has a multipart throw? Unless it’s all part of the same throw. I also like that they seem to have sped him up a bit, which is nice. He’s got some cool kicks.
He still has a lot of variations on familiar moves, such as the shadow kick, shadow uppercut and energy balls, which is fine. That’s more or less to be expected. I’m hoping to see some other surprises and maybe things I missed when they do the breakdown today.
I really love how his personality shines through. That fatality was both a perfect call back to MK1/MK2 as well as the MK movie. Plus graphically, I think he’s the best he’s ever looked from a purely detail-oriented standpoint. They’ve done such a great job of fleshing out his character over the years and I think this is the best they’ve done yet.
I tend to enjoy him both in the story and his gameplay, but he’s not really a character that I’m super hyped for, if only because he’s so expected at this point. He’s one of those core guys that you know will be in there, plus he was already teased multiple times.
Still though, they did SUCH a great job with him. The more I watch the trailer, the more I like what I see. Man, they’re just killing it with this game! For fans of Johnny specifically, I’m honestly really happy for you. I think you have by far and away the most fun and most humorous version of the character yet. I’m curious to see what else they’ll have to show us with him today. It kinda sucks that they won’t reveal another character, but all good things in time.

Does anyone else think Kabal sounds like a Rob Paulson Voice job? I could be wrong but for some reason it sounds like him.

Yep! It’s at 3pm CT today. They’re going to do a full breakdown on Johnny and there’s some sort of special announcement that’s almost assuredly related to the beta.
Ok, i don’t like the green halo and green fireballs. I think gold ones would fit better to resemble the oscar’s statue or something like “Johnny Cage hits other character with his shining”. The rest of Johnny Cage looks great. The stage also looks awesome. I am hyped.
I mean, it’s Mediterranean god energy. Green fits just as much as any other color.
