Mortal Kombat 11

Indeed.

Definitely.

In terms of expanding, from that point of view, it would be Shao Kahn, if not Onaga. In terms of protecting its interests, though? I never got the sense either did so out of Outworld’s interests. (I think there’s a compelling idea here where Onaga, if not Shao Kahn may have been a sort of corrupted hero whose Mortal Kombat tournaments are used to keep a dying wasteland from withering and dying out completely, albeit at the expense of other worlds).

I wouldn’t say Sagat is like Shang Tsung at all. Sagat is waaaaay more honorable than the latter, who pretty much is a snake.

I left Onaga out of the discussion and my rankings because he does not appear in the reboot timeline. I’ve kept it to the four Kahn’s that we’ve seen.

I mean in the sense that he’s the boss of the first game reduced to an underling in the sequel

Okay. Fair enough.

Ahh, I see.

If this is true… the continued unevenness of the character select screen will continue to bug me. Also… no Ash… that just… doesn’t make sense to me. But hey. What do I know.

@KombatLeaguer

If this is true, I may be disappointed that Reptile is left out. At the same time I’ll be happy for those folks who wanted Smoke. But didn’t Sareena become DLC in MKX?

That’s something I have an issue with. Rain didn’t be DLC in MKX because he Was DLC in MK9. This also explains why Sektor and Cyrax if they were DLC would’ve been skins of one another. so that means that they would be less likely to be DLC till the next game. Unless they were separate characters.

Apparently the deal with Ash fell through a long while ago.

No. Mortal Kombat XL had Jason,Tanya, Predator, Tremor, Leatherface, Bo Rai’Cho, Alien, and Triborg.

You’re reading into patterns, not rules. There’s no rule that says DLC characters have to skip games or can’t be in games. At the end of the day, they’ll develop and include who they wish to.

Ah, my mistake.

Again. As someone who has been studying the industry for years and who is currently working in it, that story just does not add up. If they were at the point where they were actually making assets for it then the deal “falling through” would end up COSTING both sides more money then MGM demanding more cash would ever net them. Because contracts have penalty clauses. Specifically to prevent things like this.

Well, the story may or may not add up, but it remains consistent with the observation that Ash is not in the game. Until it unless they reveal him, I wouldn’t hold my breath.

The leak looks interesting, and Smoke and Sareena returning in particular would be awesome, as those are two of my favorites, but only having four characters when five would complete the box seems like SUCH an odd choice to me.

If it’s true that the pack would launch in early May, that seems like an awfully long wait, but for that much content, I suppose it makes sense.

Hey, they could give us the last one in any number of ways

True. Honestly, and I don’t know if they’d do this and skip the promotional aspect, but it’d be awesome if they used a shadow of the 5th character and had it drop down to deliver clues like Reptile did back in MK1. Then fans have to figure out how to find this character, but once you do and you fight them and beat them, the shadow is removed, revealing the actual character and they’re now unlocked on the roster.

Maybe they could make it a fun sort of easter egg hunt, like directing you somewhere in the krypt at a certain hour and then then clue begets another clue until you can finally fight the hidden character.

Of course, there’s always the possibility that someone like the TheThiny figures it out on day one, but who knows. It took him a little while to figure out the comet in towers of time. Love that the ABACABB thing works in the game. That was a nice, fun little call back.

Three characters that I think would be pretty cool guest characters would be Lord Deimos from “Mace: The Dark Age”, Torque from “The Suffering”, and Talon from “Primal Rage”. I mean, since Midway owns these properties, it stands to reason that Warner Bros by extension now owns the copyright for them as well.
