Mortal Kombat 11

Okay. I know a lot of people really like Sindel and would love to see her here. But Mira vs Skarlet is just too perfect (plus Skarlet is one of my favorite MK characters so I’m gonna shill hard.)

Also, you forgot to add Johnny Cage vs Rash

Seriously. Who wouldn’t wanna play as this guy.

Plus. We need someone from Edenia who actually LIVED in Edenia (that’s not being mind controlled like Sindel is). That opens up the door for some really interesting dialogue.

It’s already added.

Though I chose Sindel because of where she is in terms on a power scale. Even Mira is a pretty powerful KI character. Plus while Sindel has nothing to do with blood, she was related to another character brought back from the dad and used against a member of their family.

That being said, I still think Skarlet is a cool character even if she isn’t one of my favorites.

You don’t wanna play as him? Why?

Because he looks incredibly wack

Your opinion I guess. I think he’s cool.

Curious if anyone would like to see any of these minor characters show up as the obscure character this time around. We had Skarlet in MK9 and Tremor in MKX, so how about one of these?

Argus: Elder god, protector of Edenia and god of the heavens. Husband of Delia and father of Taven, Daegon and Rain. Creator of the pyramid.

Baphomet: An elder demon from the netherealm. Concept art found in the MK:DA krypt.

Delia: The lady of flame. A fire wielding sorceress from Edenia, the wife of Argus and the mother of Taven and Daegon. Creator of Blaze.

Dominik: Kano’s son in Kano’s MKX ending. He’s trained and more or less abused by Kano as a way of grooming him for a life in the Black Dragon. It’s not known whether he eventually joined them or opposed them.
Dominik

Forrest Fox: A Shirai Ryu warrior chosen by Scorpion to be in the new clan. Ally of Takeda. The Kamidogou drove him mad and he slaughtered the entire clan. He was killed, but really… The whole timelines thing… I think they could bring him back.

Hachiman: A Japanese war diety who fights with a kendo mask and sword. Concept from MK:DA krypt.
Hachiman

Hydro: A close friend of Sub Zero’s who accompanied him to Outworld before the second tournament. He has powers over water and as cyberized unit LK1V1 also has power over electricity.

Jataaka: A demon assassin from the netherealm, a member of the Brootherhood of Shadow and a guardian of Quan Chi. Fights with a laser sword.
Jataaka

Kia: A demon assassin from the netherealm, a member of the Brotherhood of Shadow (along with Noob Saibot) and a guardian of Quan Chi that used crescent blades.

King Gorbak: The ruler of the shokan, a race of four armed half human dragons that live in Outworld. He is Goro’s father.
King%20Gorbak

King Jerrod: The former king of Edenia who was killed and beheaded when Edenia lost to Outworld in Mortal Kombat. He has since become one of the souls used to form Ermac.

Lin Kuei Grand Master: Leader of the Lin Kuei and father of Sektor. He was killed by his son, though that’s never stopped any character in MK before.
Lin_Kuei_Grandmaster

Nimbus Terrafaux: A character created by EGM as an April Fools joke, the pictures are doctored, but sure. But having a kick boxer in MK could be cool and it’d be a fun nod to the past.

No Face: A member of the Black Dragon with a penchant for fire and explosives. Not the best looking rendering, but what do you expect from a character in MK: Special Forces. Tremor looked like a dork too and he turned out okay lol.

Shadow Priest: These Outworlders are Shao Khan’s royal sorcerers, led by Shang Tsung. They helped resurrect Sindel, restored Shang Tsung’s youth and possibly assisted in creating Mileena.

Suchin: The wife of Kenshi and mother of Takeda. Little is known about her beyond the fact that she died in the original timeline. It’d be kinda cool if in this timeline, she lived when Kenshi died, though that might take some time altering business but hey, that’s what this game is for, right?
Suchin_MKX_Comic

Tasia: A ninja swordmaster working for the Black Dragon. She appeared in MK: Special Forces, but also in the MKX comic. She has the ability to teleport and reappear with several projectiles among other things.

Tiamat: A lizard-like creature (who likes to show off his butt cheeks apparently), that was created as a concept for a character in MK:DA, but was scrapped, his moves and look ultimately given to Reptile.

All of these concepts show promise.

Titamat might be a great way to expand more on the Saurian race.

Though the OG grandmaster. Fox, Suchin. and some of these other folks are currently dead. If they could somehow be revived then bring em in. Though, considering how MK11 ended the timeline. We’re probably getting a new storyline in the future with diffrent outcomes for characters.

We’ve already had 3 kickboxers in the form of Jax (PS2 era), Kobra (PS2 era), and Jacqui (MK11).

With that said Hachiman is the only one in that list that interests me, since it’s obvious Raiden is never getting his samurai costume back.

Promise means little, Cetrion and Terminator are proof of that. Still, I would like to see an MK mostly comprised of newcomers or existing characters who were never in the fighting games before. Maybe I’m just old, but I’m getting sick of seeing the same 10 or so characters returning to the roster every new game.

Also in the case of Tiamat, I still think the Raptor queen from Reptile’s MKX ending would be a better pick for a saurian character. It would make sense since the Earth Raptors have been wanting to take back the surface for ages now, and with every other king or queen being playable at some point in the series, why not?

Ok. Terminator is a little dissapointing (I almost kind of feel like the license holder interferes with that one). But Cetrion is really fun to play.

I agree that it’s a little frustrating seeing a lot of characters stay the same between each installment, but I don’t think what you’re suggesting would go over very well considering ever other time a fighting game has ditched most of its classic characters has gone over pretty poorly. It would be like what’s going on right now with Mileena, Reptile, and Ermac, but multiplied by 10-15. That being said, a game set during The Great Kung Lao’s tournament would be cool. You still have the Street Fighter 3 problem to contend with though.

As for Tiamat, why not merge the two concepts?

This has to be generated entirely from stop motion animation, like Primal Rage.

(Aside: this movie has a two headed giant fighting a tentacled sea monster, a dog and a chimpanzee. Peak cinema. It’s been all downhill since.)

If anything, he has less personality now.

I’m enjoying the lists of vs pairings. To me those seem like good teams for a tag game.

Yeah that’s about right. The Eyedols design og design was inspired by the cyclops from Sinbad.

(On a side note: they may not use monsters for Stop Motion anymore but it’s not entirely bad in terms of films. The Godzilla movies by legendary are awesome examples of this. Even then stop motion films are still being made to this day.)

Yeah, with all of MK11’s zany timeline stuff, I think any of these characters could return via the “alternate timeline” loophole. Why is Forrest Fox in this game? Well you see he came from one of many timelines where Raiden didn’t entrust Scorpion with the kamidogu and he completed his training and in this particular timeline he blah blah blah and then he was pulled in to the MK11 timeline by Kronika because of blah blah / they were pulled in to this timeline along with the other heroes and now he wants to blah blah.

It wouldn’t take much to explain any of them being here. All they really need to do is briefly explain the timeline they came from, how they wound up here, and what they intend do or what they did, if they’re explaining all of this in their arcade ending which would be non-canon regardless since none of them are strictly canon. Plus, as you said the timeline’s getting reset in the next game anyways so it’s not like anything they could possibly do would have ramifications on the future unless they wanted it to for some reason.

Anyways, for me, the most interesting ideas would be the following:

Kia and Jataaka (along with Sareena): I think that the three of them could combine to make a really cool obscure character. They’d hold one spot on the select screen, and you could choose which of the three you want to use. They’d have their own movesets, but one of the move options would take up 3 slots and it would add two special moves each from the other two characters who can jump in and use them before jumping out. So basically this would be MK11’s Triborg or Ninja Turtles.

Given that they’re all demons, members of the brotherhood of shadow and carry different weapons, I can’t imagine it’d be difficult to come up with some fun stuff to do with each of them.

King Gorbak: We don’t have any real heavies in this game that I can recall. Given that Goro is dead in this timeline, I think it’d be cool to have his dad enter the fray, looking to do some damage. We’ve obviously seen the types of things Goro could do in MKX, so move ideas for the king shouldn’t be too tough to come by.

The rest of them, especially Tasia, I’d be more than okay with. I think they all have little bits and pieces here and there that could be used as a base to expand upon the character. If Reptile isn’t going to be in MK11, then another Zaterran would be nice, especially a devolved one like Tiamat.

Personally, I’ve always wanted to play as a shadow priest. I always thought they looked cool, hanging out in the background, and I’m sure they could have some fun magical powers. Same goes for Jerrod. If we’re going to have Sindel return, then it’d be cool to see her finally reunited with her actual husband.

I thought Kintaro was Goro’s dad - wasn’t that his backstory in MKII?

In that case maybe Reptile could be DLC down the line. Maybe not in the next season, but one day.

Nah, he didn’t really have much of a backstory in MK2. He was basically there to avenge Goro’s death. In MK 2011 though, his bio lists him as part of the Tigrar race, a lower, more savage race of Shokan than Goro, who comes from the Draco race. This is why Kintaro has tiger stripes and Goro’s referred to as a half human dragon. In MKX, one of Goro’s pre-fight lines against Kitana refers to Kintaro as a “striped commoner.”

So they’re not related. If anything, they’re rivals. I know they had a skirmish in the Malibu Comics line way back when, but that’s about it.

I dunno, it’s certainly possible. I think people are under the assumption of because Shang Tsung uses moves from Smoke, Rain, Reptile and Ermac and Kitana uses moves from Mileena that these five characters are exceedingly unlikely to appear in MK11. I’m not so sure about that, but who knows. I think it’d be kinda lame on NRS’ part, knowing just how much fans have been clamoring for Mileena, Rain and Sareena even to tease them with that Terminator name/image thing.

Granted, I absolutely wouldn’t put it past them to troll their own fanbase. I’m sure Boon’s eyebrows get all bushy and happy at the thought. But if Mileena or Rain do turn out to be DLC at some point, I don’t think we should count Reptile out.

Goro’s father is Gorbak, the King of the Shokan, who was killed by Kotal in the current timeline.

Kintario is a Tigrar Shokan, a lower social class than the dragon one’s like what Goro is.

Like Doctor Fate in Injustice 2, Cetrion was fun until I realized her combos get out-jabbed by most other characters in the roster. It annoys me how zoners have the coolest looking moves and combos, because it always ends with them being bad outside of their preferred range (usually long-range combat). I don’t like playing keepaway, it’s boring.

Because we had enough representation of lizardman Raptors via PS2-era Reptile. Having a new female character in the form of the queen would also be a nice throwback to Khameleon, since even if they were allowed to use her in the non-Switch versions of the game Ed Boon hates her and won’t bring her back (same with the male Chameleon). Mind you, I’m not saying the queen should copy other characters, just that she should exist as a playable character.
