Lol, How long has she been “flushing out Ultratech?”
Thing is, I really like her moveset, but you hit a home run with the personality bit. I’m a much bigger fan of the darker, more devious characters like Sadira and Mira. They aren’t there to right some wrong or save the day. They’re here to kill you and enjoy it, to reap rewards for their shadowy causes. And characters like Hisako, Riptor, and Maya seem so pure and focused in their goals and personality that they’re almost incarnations of their traits rather than simply having said traits.
They also look cooler. But that might just be me again.
I’m trying to find it hard to beleive that I see that comment and see the username is CrazyLCD whom I would usualy think is the least likely to make such a comment. For a sec I thought it was humorous sarcasm, then I noticed the smiley so you’re totally being "super serial"right now.
What exactly does this have to do with sexism? .3. they just happen to not Orchid as much as the other characters. Ask any of them who they main and I’m sure you’ll find a female in there some where.
Certainly possible. I’m a bit slow on the draw when it comes to picking up sarcasm in typed text, but if that’s the case, no big deal. If he’s serious, it’s kind of a crappy assumption to make, but whatever.
I get that. Hisako is a vengeful spirit. She embodies that. Yet in the story, she’s also helping characters like Tusk and Kim Wu. So she has both the personality and the plot mobility.
With Orchid, she’s was a military kid with this uncontrollable power and to me, that makes her intriguing. She kinda seems like she could be a bit of a loose cannon. There’s a personality established in the novella, but I don’t know how well it translates over to the game and I think it’s much harder to do that when her role has been so thoroughly diminished in the 3rd season.
It almost feels like Maya has overtaken her as the “freedom fighter” while Hisako is the loose cannon to an extent, at least with her rage and what not. Of course, characters will have overlap, that’s just natural the bigger a game gets. But without really propelling Orchid forward in to a story of her own, the overlap seems to diminish her a bit more than it otherwise might have.
Of course, that could all change if they do a 4th season and really try and blow the whole plot out more within Shadow Lords, with more cutscenes, more dossiers, and perhaps (fingers crossed!) some sort of sprawling, canon main story narrative, but for right now at least, at this moment in time, she feels borderline superfluous, and that kinda sucks for a character that’s traditionally been more important than she is right now.
So your first thought to people disagreeing with you is to call them sexist? It couldn’t be that they just believe Fulgore / Jago is a better choice. I would hate to have seen what you would have said if you were talking about TJ Combo.
You need to remember that this is not your stream. People here are not going to agree with you without question like your stream. We are here on the fourm, because we like KI. Not because we like some of the poeple who stream KI.
This more towards the claim itself if anything. Look I get that you want her to be more involved, but that’s just a bit much dude.
Despite that, it would be rather nice to see Orchid evolve more at least from a story perspective. As far as S3/Shadow Lords is concerned, she hasn’t really done anything noteworthy aside from simply aiding the resistance. As far as female characters go, it’s mainly Maya and Hisako that’s been driving the plot so it would be nice to see Orchid be more involved considering she is one of the main heroines.

No, of course you haven’t. That would require a level of self-awareness you clearly don’t have.
Ummm… It is worth stating the obvious though. Orchid probably wouldn’t be given the opportunity to be the face of KI because she is a female. That seems entirely realistic to me. Its mainly dudes who play and they typically choose male characters.
