Last two characters guessing game

Yes, the game is very good. We only need more of it. i wish IG will decide to support it. It is a petfect game.

Everybody hears rumors about everything, a lot of them turn out to be false.
That being said, a new Perfect Dark might be pretty cool.

I want Joanna Dark in KI. I donā€™t think she will be one of these two characters, but if they do Season 4, she needs to be there

Some of you sound a bit limited in perspective

How in the complete %#^^ is Joanna any similar to Orchid than Maya is to Kim Wu? What ridiculous reasoning.

Almost like saying 'we donā€™t need another African American, we have Combo ā€™

Oh wait

Itā€™s not about race or anything like that but about theme and fighting style. It would be like saying we already have tj combo why do we need to bring a guest character boxer from another game like Balrog from sf.

Orchid: Spy, fights against an evil mega corporation(Ultratech)
JD: Spy, fights against an evil mega corporation (dataDyne)

Just to compare to Maya and Kim, as you say:

Maya: Profesional monster hunter, born as member of a secret society, uses cursed weapons
Kim: Student, martial artist, had a normal life until The Dragon guardian choose her as member of a warriorā€™s lineage, uses spirit infused weapons

See the difference? Gender or race are irrelevant here. Background, proffesion and fight style are different

Sharkman is TJ, crabs. Fulgore - Eagle. Arianna - Aria. Reading the lore?

You do know the Orchid is not a spy in the this game (at least not anymore) right? Sheā€™s a rebel freedom fighter. There is a difference. Thatā€™s like saying we canā€™t have a ninja character because we already have Jago or Sadira

Check her backstory

Orchid is the leader of an Eastern European spy ring known as the Disavowed. All of the members of this organization

ā€¦

One must go back to Orchidā€™s childhood to discover the roots of her origins as an international spy

ā€¦

Orchid also came into contact with a young Native American named Eagle. He messaged the Disavowed through a forum run by cyber dissidents, trying to find someone to help him bring down Ultratech. Orchid brought him into the spy ring and, after deciding that he was legitimate and not a plant, sent him on a mission to the Killer Instinct tournament.

ā€¦

As she contemplated her last several encounters with Ultratech, Orchid realized that she had spent too much time forcing direct confrontation with her enemies. To improve as a fighter, sheā€™ll need to embrace her skills as a spy and focus on the element of surprise
ā€¦

Totally spy

Btw, Jago is not a ninja, is a warrior monk

I know thatā€™s what was trying to say.

Yeah, I understand.

But Orchid is a spy

The theme ninja is much more varied than a spy. A ninja could be futuristic or traditional, modern, supernatural. His play style could be about Arial Mobility, ground mobility, traps/debuffs and poison, stealth, teleports. The possible weapons are just as different too with chains and etc.

Orchid would literally have a working Johanna move set if she got a pistol and took away firecat. Orchid even already has a grenade too.

Apologies I didnā€™t specify in my last post but meant to imply a traditional ninja. sorry

Well, in theory, but Iā€™d argue that it doesnā€™t have to be. A spy can have varied looks, styles, etc. You could have a cloak and dagger, old school wartime look. Or you could have a more traditional spy look with the trench coat, sunglasses, hat, etc. Or they could have the sleek, shadowy, cat burglar look. They can also have the ā€œspy for the stateā€ look with the full body suit. They can also have the futuristic sci-fi look. Of course, they can also have more the gentlemen look with the tuxedo.

I mean, saying thereā€™s not much variation would be like saying Corvo from Dishonored, Larcen from Eternal Champions, Catwoman from the Arkham games, Solid Snake from MGS, Joanna Dark from Perfect Dark and James Bond would all look and play the same way.

Now, Iā€™m not denying the fact that there could be some cross over. There certainly could be, especially when you get in to what types of weapons or gadgets they might use, just as you suggest with Orchid having a grenade Joanna would use. But it all depends on what directions youā€™d want to take a character in.

I could see a character looking like Larcen not having anything in terms of futuristic weaponry, whereas someone like Snake probably wouldnā€™t use stuff like grappling hooks. So in my mind, thereā€™s plenty of room for variety in terms of move set (which has a huge mine of trope lore to dig in to), look, and story.

And here is where you contradict your retort.

Orchid- fights with spring batons and turns into firecat.

Joanna Dark- gun-toting mech operative who used martial arts and cunning meticulous strategy and turns into nothing.

Care to try again?

I thought so

So? And they all are fighters as well.

Wtf

Interesting. Iā€™ll be happy for thos ehwo want Eagle in the game. However I donā€™t think that is likley. Itā€™d be interesting if he did though.

Iā€™d also like to see the lovecraftian monster or a wendigo.

Hmm, this thread got me thinking, looking back on the teasers for previously released KI characters and the fact Kilgore kind of came out of nowhere, what if the last two characters turn out to be something thatā€™s never even been mentioned here before?
(A challenge I know, lol.)

The reason I say this is things about certain characters that changed a lot between the release of the initial teaser trailer and the charactersā€™ final release, two examples being Cinderā€™s classy English accent and Kan Ra actually being quite eloquent as opposed to a roaring mummy.

Iā€™m not sure if this misdirection was intentional to change, improve and craft upon them in time for release, or just the natural process of how things change and evolve when still in the pre-release phase.

We could actually wind up with something that evolves from the ideas given on the forums rather than a character directly based on the tropes suggested, which to my mind only makes it feel even more hype!

As long as itā€™s not a guest character or a shadow version of a character, Iā€™ll be happy.

Great a hulking bug/ shark hovering glob with male arms and hands with a thick Australian accent
Lol
