well at least his designs were different now we have classics that are a little off…
i like MS Wus classic above but the front TAIL thing… i just dont know why thats ever ok lol! make it longer give it movement and BOOM we are closer or close enough!
if we are going to adapt the classics so very slightly id rather Kevin re designed them like Riptors, Mayas and Tjs.
I love retro maya but even tho bayliss made the new retro there was still backlash over it.

I agree! BUT i think mostly that was because we all wanted a cinder COPY (exact versions of the old costumes) and Kev was brought in to modernise them and make them different with the old feeling

short hair backlash: new retro Maya had short hair to avoid clipping. Not Bayliss fault
“not 100% retro” backlash: Bayliss was instructed to “reimagine” the classic characters if they were to be created today. Not Bayliss fault again.
So, in the end, the (minor) backlashes were not about the quality of the retros themselves (which was fine) but for other reasons.
Bayliss gave us classic TJ and classic Cinder, the best retros so far in the game. Now IG adds Kim Wu, which is even better than those. Those three and Glacius are the only good ones in the game. If Tusk follows Kim’s pattern, he’ll be awesome.
I have only one small comment to make. While I agree that KI does not need to show skin to sell, I have to say Kim’s retro kneepads are in there just for the purpose of make her pantyhose less ■■■■■■. It’s necessary not to degrade female characters, but sometimes you are not sure anymore if these small changes are made to respect females or to avoid enraging the internet radical feminist mafia. Sometimes it’s like they do these things out of fear instead of out of respect.

Yeah I know what your saying. I love maya with the short hair.
But there were people who wanted long hair and awful daggers because it wasn’t identical to the retro
I love the s2 retros and s1 bar some of the hair.

Don’t think bayliss was instructed. I remember the reimagining being his way of updating what the characters would’ve looked like has there been a ki3 back then
She never had a skirt. It was 2 flaps covering a thong.
When I play her in ki2 the lower half of her is just wrong especially when you knock her off

I am pretty sensitive about people grabbing their pitchforks and storming the castle over dumb stuff. At the same time, when it comes to oversexed video game characters I refuse to fall into the trap of saying “just because aggressive feminists think it’s a problem it must not be a problem and I’m going to encourage it.” Mika’s butt slap is silly, and the game is better with out it.
