Hey, I got a super random question here I’ve been wondering… I might get a lecture for this so please don’t if you’re tempted I understand it’s all apples and oranges here.
Anyways, I’m fairly new and trying to improve every day. What shadow survival tier would you say overall corresponds to a mid Gold rank, and then what tier corresponds to Killer on average?
From my own experience I feel like the top tier shadows play similarly to mid level gold players.
There are a few things shadows can’t teach you though. One thing is counter breaking…they just rarely fall for it. In fact, pretty much all mind games are a no-go. The other big one is that they don’t adapt, so you can find yourself getting in a bad spot where you think you understand what a character is capable of and develop a rut or sorts, and then against a real person they find ways around that set of tactics and beat you badly.
That’s not to say shadows aren’t good practice, but I would recommend testing out real players every now and then as a measuring stick to see how you’re progressing.
What’s top tier? I’m new… like 1000sp or less?
Yeah, 1,000 sp is the highest tier.
I feel like my skill level balances to 250, better offense and balls defense. Sighhh

Thought I’d make it back to killer tonight until I lost my promotion match and lost a full 150 points. Is that right? Do you really lose that many points for failing the promotion match?
I’ve only seen points drop like that from DC’s or ragequits.
More grinding needed then…
And again. Matched up against a top 32er. Are they just waiting for promotion matches or something?

It was a close match and I was losing the plot because of how much the tables were turning back and forth.
All I need to do now is keep playing and never get demoted ever again.

I finally made Killer (after lamenting last week that I thought I had hit my ceiling at gold.)
Perhaps some of yas will see me on there sometime. My tag is Jackalamp, bit it still says ‘uisbrother’ on the forums since I changed it a week or so ago. Not sure how to fix that.
Killer rank is fun though, lots of really interesting situations I never foresaw. Definitely helping me grow as a player
I did the thing! I never actually set out with the intention of doing the thing, but curiosity eventually overcame me and I spent more and more time in Ranked. Recently I spent 2 Saturday afternoons and did a bit of grinding this evening and I managed to hit Killer. (A very mediocre Killer, maybe, but a Killer nontheless!) 
I did. It took ahwile but I did.
I se eno reason to go on Rank now.
Just checked, I dropped Killer due to inactivity. Does it always remain Gold from now on or does it gradually drop according to inactivity?
From what i gather, you can drop no lower than gold from killer due to inactivity.
Yeah, what @SneerfulWater57 said. You have to play at least 1 match within a month online to keep Killer, but if not you only get dropped back to Gold.
