KILLER RANK who's made it?

Look at this…

Focused, determined and ready. He represents Strength, Speed and Fury.

Patch 3.4 came out and this happened.

This is Jago now.

That’s it, it’s done, it’s over.

@oDragonSpirit @TheNinjaOstrich

I’m sorry, I couldn’t help being melodramatic, he is still really good. :joy:

Congratulations to all.
I reach the Gold Rank months ago with Tusk and never touched ranked again.
Now, I started to play with my favorite KI char Fulgore and I think I will never reach the Killer.
It’s just too hard.

A good thing to do would be to take a look at Maximilians past broadcasts with Killer instinct. Try to find matches of him playing fulgore against others online. You could refer to his Fulgore and the gampley of it a “Gateway” to high level play.
Watches any pro players, or highly skilled streamers play and character will help you significantly improve. That’s how i got to where i am!

I thought that when I first hit gold. Now I’ve been a Killer for quite some time and I can whup up on Gold players all day long. there’s no real secret…just keep on enjoying playing & fine-tune your gameplay as you go. You’ll get better over time.

Watching others play will help you see what your doing wrong. I also recommend hitting the practice mode a LOT. Practiceing tech frequently, even if you think you are proficient enough with it will move mountains. I know that every month I learn something new with Kan-Ra even though I’ve been playing him since his launch.

Every single match on this road was with Kim Wu from qualifier to this point, she’s been the only character i picked up at all. It was difficult as all hell (as shown by that terrible record lol) but it’s done!

So for anyone that’s grinding and grinding and feeling like they’re not getting anywhere…practice. If you really want it, and put the work in, you’re getting somewhere.

Congrats! My first time to killer didn’t look much better if not worse, but I hope you enjoy sitting on the top ledge with the rest of us.

The view IS nice. Probably because it took so long to climb this mountain!

Now theres two other paths id like to try taking, both only with Kim Wu. Getting at least one of those top 32 stars…and winning a tournament…but FIRST gonna have to get used to and winning against other Killers lol.

Old ranking system was so much harder

I only read or watched it, but it did look much harder. Up until KI came out on the PC, i refused to dump money into an Xbox just for this game. Then i HAD to because getting an Xbox was cheaper than upgrading my PC to be able to handle KI. I got in not long after the event with the season 3 rework. Guess that makes me a youngblood…

Wait, do you mean the old one, or the old old one? Because S2’s ranking system actually made it too easy to get stuck up at the top before your were at a good enough skill level to compete. I’m assuming you mean S1 though, where there was no low-end bar that would keep you from sliding back to a beginner rank if you lost enough. The issue with that was you would end up with people with a higher skill level stuck at the bottom because of bad matchups and losing streaks and they’d be wrecking all the noobs. So yeah, making it harder to get to an appropriate competitive bracket is not necessarily a good thing.

Congrats! Welcome to Killer

Wait how? My cheap $300 store bought computer from three years ago can run ki just fine. Passes the performance test and everything.

The PC i have is a refurbished office one that doesn’t have any expansion slots for a video card, which is what i really needed. So i was either looking at replacing the motherboard and getting a new video card, buying a new computer with the proper specs, or getting the Xbox One. I went with the One.

Sorry about the super late reply! It was just fun trying to get to rank 40 in S1 cause you know it is going to be super hard. I remember back in S1 I only seen pros that reached that peak! It reminded me of Halo 3 ranking system where you have to be really really good to reach rank 50! I just feel like anybody can become a killer in S3…

Well, awhile back I reset my rank, in part due to training for the Random Character tournament, and quickly learned that in KI’s off season that was a bad idea. Up until yesterday all throughout gold tier I fought pretty much nothing but either bronzes or Killers, and a lot of them pro star players, but barely a gold player. I eventually got fed up and switched back to my mains, primarily Glacius, and regained my title. But as I mentioned on another thread, I ran into a lot of players with bad lag and got disconnected so many times that I’m now in probation until next month. And my promotion match was against a pro star player, which I dominated, so there’s that.
Anyway, it’s nice to be back up where I should be. I don’t plan to reset my rank anytime soon again.
