Season 3 feel like KI is going through the process of transitioning away from the XBLA title…
What do you mean?
The things that are being done to the game are not things they would do if they intend to simply ride season to season via digital distribution.
I agree with this interpretation but do you have examples of the things they have stated they are implementing that would give credence to this? Aside from them declaring the 2 year contract for the KI world cup.
I’m just going to take all the announcements as just that, announcements. It’s been said that more is coming over the next few days/weeks. Personally, I’m withholding any kind of judgment until season 3 is released in its entirety. All we have is scraps at the moment, and we can’t base our opinions of the entire meal off a picture of the appetizer.
Well of course its conjecture.
Opting for a general graphic up grades over having 8/9 stages. While knowing players are more than willing(if not eagerly anticipating) to be spoon fed the exact same format as before. (ms&ig haven’t feed us something “bitter” before, we’re more then will dine with them. Without the digging out “fancy china” for us)
With the rationale, that the previously released content would be more than enough to remedy lack of stages now. That concept makes more sense if the seasons are to solidified as one game or rather one purchase.
Rukari dropped the word preorder. Which is unusual considering how the season have been released before with a couple of characters being complete at launch and the rest to be completed throughout the “season” which is why they’re called seasons in the first place a supposed to a packs, sets, or parts.
We’re getting guest now, if there was more seasons we’d undoubtedly get them later. The core cast is hitting completion this season.
I’m reaching for the stars
but I’m pretty sure I’m close.
HI
I agree with filemon.
I try to explain my point right now.
The biggest problem with killer instinct its not the game itself.
I feel the reboot of my favorite saga in session 1 like a complete success.
And i feel the session 2 like a good continuation.
the biggest problem i can see here is the vision of the game.
Too much different from session 1, to session 2.
I must say , i suspect the vision of I.G about killer instinct (and combo system) it is too much different to the vision of the reboot implemented by D.H .
The hit stop, some stiff animations, the aerial combo breaker system, and the dark feel present in session 1 , has lost some essence in session 2. Aganos, and the joke personality of cinder, make a clear example of the different “points of view " between the two session.
The never polished animations of tj, maya, the inconsistency of the story mode, (with no integrations between sessions, ) the never included stage ultras in session 1 stages, and the lost of the dark feel in general, and etc… give to us, the older killer instinct lovers, a " inconscinstent game " sensation.
But its session 2 a bad game?
No at all.
But you , MY DEAR MS, must finish and bring to us all you promised before go forward in you work.
And i dont say " its I.G fault,” i say is M.S. fault, because you have resources.
and you MUST KNOW SOMETHING: “THE KILLER INSTINCT COMUNITY IS THE BEST COMUNITY IN THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE”
GOD BLESS YOU
Wow, I’m really late to this party but I’ll throw in my two cents. I can’t believe everyone is freaking out about stages. New stages are nice, and I would love more, but I don’t play fighting games for the stages.
I just don’t believe this is true. Can you imagine a time when they could EVER tell us there were going to be only three stages that this forum wouldn’t erupt?
Also, no offense, but if you are going to claim that the game is profitable I need to see some evidence. Are you aware of the game’s revenue in some way that the rest of us are not privy to?
It’s unfortunate that their isn’t more news at the moment because that means the only conversations going on are about stages. But frankly people are freaking out and hyper analyzing this one change to the game. And that is not MS’s fault.
If there was one thing you could add to the game to compensate for the reduction in stages what would it be guys and gals?
Good question…
Maybe season 1 story mode revamped?
But I don’t Know man, Ki is already perfect IMO. It just needs tusk.
I only got into this new version of KI (2013) in January so I am just happy for the additional characters at the moment. But, had I of played it since season 1 it could well of been a different story…
Adam noted that they wanted to use those resources from stages to beef up other parts of the game. What that is we’re not sure. We know the Dojo will get an update. It could be story mode related. Max hinted on Neogaf that they have big plans for it. Shadow Labs for a casual player like myself is a lot of fun, but I think it can still use some improvements for this season. It may be an entirely new game mode.
Same here. The new lighting is very, very welcome!
TOMMOROW GUYS! TOMMOROW! Big possible info.
I won’t get my hopes up that they reveal anything, but still: Cross yer fingers!
More importantly: trailer plus teaser is today!
They can’t talk about it till march 1st though…
I’m always down for more characters but I’m just happy to have anything new. It’s awesome that they’re still taking care of this game and I hope they continue doing so!
I remember hearing an interview a while back where Isgreen said that it would be pretty obvious what they’ve been working on this whole time. I don’t think we’ve seen what that is yet and I bet we’re in for a surprise. Especially since we weren’t allowed to see the whole menu at KI Cup.
I’m still hyped…
For me it would of been the one thing I always wanted, but we are not getting it anyway: Ultimates.
All I can say is: it’s certainly something No one here is expecting.
