Killer Instinct Season 3 Graphics Shine Brighter

I was quite impressed with the shadow labs mode

Wel if they do not appear in the game we can always qq/demand a community fund for those.

At least that is what I hope for if that is the case.

I remember those were the most wanted thing on the old DH forum.

But like others had mentioned, we shouldn’t have to ask for those in such a way, we do it too much and they could just very well leave out certain features on purpose. We don’t want to have to rely on community funds all the time just for them to put in features folks have wanted since before season1’s launch

Shadow Labs is great, it’s just annoying when no one ever fights your shadow ever.

Have the devs commented on why they won’t add ultimate’s? Is it to do with the overall game rating or have they used the time on touching up and adding more stage ultras instead?

I think that’s what stopped my optimism for it when a month later it still hasn’t been challenged yet

Yeah your right but it was meant as a last resort.
I voted ultimates on the poll that was on the old DH forums.

And that you can onky choose 2 shadows

I try to do my weekly service to the community and go through survival mode without skipping. Eventually I got folks to challenge my shadow. It’s started snowballing which is nice, but my shadow has no wins lol.

The introduction of characters’ gain via virtual currency, like SFV dlcs. It isn’t easy to create a good balance for currency gain, how much, where to take it and of course, a weekly limit.

@MandrillManiac Perhaps he was referring to the complete arbiter’s trailer

Perhaps he was referring to the complete arbiter’s trailer
[/quote]That’s happening today

The Microsoft press show is tomorrow… but we won’t know anything till March 1st.

I hope it’s a flash of all characters!

Or maybe just Tusk back to camera and a swooping image of his stage

The stage they show in the trailer tease is good enough for me. Better than Kim Wu’s and better than Arbiter’s IMHO. If they let me lock the stage there I would be happy for a good long time.

3 extra stages is fine there are too many other areas of the game that I would rather see improved and we already have 20 stages anyway.

Am I the only person who thought the game looked better/different with the 2.13 update ?

I’m getting pretty good here lately :slightly_smiling:

Could you explain that for me? I really want to love Tusk’s stage, but it looks so phenomenally boring to me.

I see Glacius’ stage minus the cool space ship. I see no color. No interesting background animations. No action. No umph of any sort. I suppose the sky looks… Convincing?

What do you see that looks better than Kim’s and Arby’s stages?

You saw a teaser? A literal freeze frame shot that barely lasted a full second as it shortly showed off the little sections of the stage. Then the focus shifted directly to tusk so much that you couldn’t even see the background properly …

Your complaint is that there is no action? Bland? We didn’t even see a full 5 second of the stage with its idle animations. Wait until the actual trailer to saw the stage doesn’t do anything interesting. Next thing you know round two on that stage has the ice crack swallowing the boat and showing off the ocean behind with large whales or orca or something jumping in the water or something.

If the rest of the stages look like arbys and tusk it’ll make the game look so much better. Hope the characters receive the same loce

Trust me, I’ve been clinging to such hopes all morning - that there will be more going on with the stage in the trailer.

… what?.. I am having trouble even comprehending the question…

Opinions on aesthetics are always difficult to “justify,” but I can give it a try.

It is a barren (but busy) landscape of desolate ice containing a frozen Viking longboat (Awesome) frozen/mummified Viking corpses (double awesome!!) and it’s also a well lit and bright daytime stage. Maybe you live in a tropical climate, but if you have experience with frigid weather and sunshine there is no way you can tell me that you don’t look at Tusk’s stage and feel just like you would on that kind of day - with sunshine beating down on you in the freezing and bitter cold.

I think, visually, snow is very interesting and - although I am a Glacius main and love his stage I think the visual impact of Tusks (what we have seen of it) is much cleaner. If I asked you to draw Glacius’s spaceship, maybe you could but I’m willing to bet 9/10 people couldn’t sketch out anything resembling what’s actually present in the stage. We know it’s a spaceship that crashed, and we don’t really look at the details. Besides they are obscured for most of the fight by icy fog and blizzard conditions (which is awesome, but in a different kind of way).

The details on the boat are awesome. You can see sea ice floating on the waves (which is an interesting animation in my view) and in the distance you can see an actual Viking village with a long house. It mixes the real with the fantastical, in a way that KI has always done - whether through futuristic SciFi or KI2’s ancient settings. The stage is not empty. I don’t think it has to be a riot of color and movement in order to not be “boring.” I look at this stage and I get a very strong sense of place - and one of the things that people have been complaining about is that the stages are part of the character. Well, this stage tells me a lot more about Tusk than Kim Wu’s or Arbiter’s stages tell me about those characters. No one is going to look at that stage and say “the guy who comes from there is probably a wuss.” Chuck Norris took one look at this place and turned around and went home because he didn’t want to mess with the badass who lives here. To me, that’s “umph.” It doesn’t have to be a truck crashing through a wall (although that’s awesome) to be visually and viscerally impactful.

I love it, and I can’t wait to see more. Your mileage may vary. Obviously different people like different things, and that’s okay. But I will challenge anyone who wants to claim that this stage somehow represents a less interesting or artistic vision than any of the other stages. The first time I saw it, it made a huge impression on me.
