The fact is the relighting isn t S3 exclusive, so if I don t buy S3 my game will get graphic improvements anyways. But if I will buy S3 (which I will day one of course) I get only 3 stages as the relighting an universal upgrade. That ■■■■■■ me off a little.
But shills isn’t the right word.
IG is not a swindler, Hawker nor a gambler.
hmmm, let me phrase it like this then, Someone botched the lighting in SE2 (not saying who) and to fix it costs content for SE3.
The difference between S1 and S2 was barely noticeable. And not immediately identifiable as ‘worse’, just different.
What we’re being shown is a complete overhaul to the entire lighting system. KI will finally look like a fully rendered 8th gen game.
You’re overtly downplaying the massive and obvious difference, because… ?
I could care less. But In truth it’s not a big deal at all.
And people are blowing it out of proportion like its the end of all things.
Everyone Has every right to be disappointed tho.
(Sigh) I know it’s very hard choice. I’m very disappointed than before.
Good-bye to everyone in this thread… I need play The Division before close down beta.
Fair, I didn’t realize they confirmed this was in-game content. That obviously raises the likelihood considerably that there’s only one stage we haven’t seen yet.
It also basically scraps the possibility that canon characters get stages and guests don’t – which is a good thing given the circumstances, if you ask me. If it was three stages and they stuck to a stage per character, then we’d be getting zero new characters (i.e. canon characters that are new designs and weren’t in the classic games in any form), which would be depressing.
Go to the bug forum about the first 20 pages. People had screen caps of SE1 and SE2 lighting. It was so bad people that it was a bug. Adam clarified and said its not a bug and that the lighting got scrapped. dude that was 5 months ago
Just because you don’t care doesn’t mean other people don’t. I will express my disappointment how I choose. This is an ultimately subjective point. You don’t care that the game is asymmetrical now. I do. If you want to express your satisfaction, do so in a way that’s not patronizing.
Yeah I sounded Like a ■■■■
Sorry for that…
I just had a long rough day… and wasn’t really ready for the community response to this.
You’re all right.
While I do understand some of the backlash regarding only having only 3 new additional stages, I wanna ask the community to weigh both the main positive and negative point of this situation
- All 17 stages’ lighting have been overhauled, and they look ■■■■ good. With Season 3 adding 3 more stages, it brings the number of stages to 20, which is more than both MKX (14) and SFV (10) at the moment. All in all, that’s a solid amount of stages.
And now for the negative aspect.
- The low number of stages being added for season 3 is pretty disappointing. For Seasons 1 & 2, we’ve been used to having a stage attached to every character (Sans Shadow Jago) and this is a pretty big shift what each season of KI generally includes. Not to mention it brings up the following question: Since its confirmed that not every character will have a stage, what will happen to the dynamic theme of characters who DON’T get their own stages? We just don’t know at the moment.
In terms of my own opinion, I’m not to devastated by the announcement itself, I DO wish the announcement itself was handled a bit better, especially regarding the dynamic themes of the characters.
I put this post together, not for a “It’s not so bad” or a “Look on the bright side” point of view, but to lay out the facts and have you, the community, come to an objective conclusion regarding this entire situation. And if I missed anything, please by all means inform me.
The WHOLE game looks a ton better. Ok, we are not getting 4 extra stages. That sucks. But we still getting all new characters!
In reality you would only probably play new stages first few times and be done with them. Now every stage and character looks significantly better.
Majority of people were asking for better graphics for a long time. Well here it is! Check the screenshots again, the old stages have so much new details, they almost look new.
I am very hyped!
At the end of the day: Some People will be happy and other people will be not-so happy. It’s just the way it is.
And who knows, maybe after season 3 is finished, the devs could do a community fund for the characters who didn’t get stages ![]()
Ultimate fund and i dont care if i have to sell my house to do it
That’s all I can hope for.
just to update you:
IG screwed the lighting up post season 2 and now they blew the whole budget to fix it. that sums it up pretty good
I foresee a lot of confusion, and loss of ability to do things in the best way.
