Something people should consider is the small variance between characters
This means that the characters are all pretty even, which is very important to acknowledge

I still donāt get how this list is different than @llPaulBll 's list.
Paulās list was one person per character, this list was many people per character and the opinions were averaged. Secondly, the weight of A vs B matchup was averaged with B vs A, instead of listed separately.
Remember that this data is a collection of opinions because the low tier chars have untapped potential.
@ItzTymeToDul found some great tech with Kan ra this week. I think heās still good.
What Infil said. This list also has a discussion component within it as well, where the players can discuss different MU aspects, compare notes, and convince one another of how certain fights sit.
If you watch the recent Kiets interview, Adam states that their ultimate goal is to move as many characters from the bottom towards the middle and push the top down a bit.
There is much easier said than done though. I know itās frustrating to be a Sadira main right now, but they arenāt blind to her struggles.
With every large patch there is a massive shake up, so who knows what theyāll do for her next.
i didnāt know that, but ok thats now 11 months iām waiting for that sadira adjustement in some points""11 F**** months bro! u just wish it will be real and not a utopia. and IMO the top tiers characters are just right , its the others who needs adjustements. i dont need the top tier to be nerfed again ( otherwhise ths game wil become MVC and i will stop playing it for real, its so frustrating to fight most matchs till the time out when playing sadira, now if it happen with jago, thunder or fulgore or glacius i wil definitely drop this game.
This is amazing to me, because within a few days of him coming out I was grinding for colors on ranked with Kilgore and I actually had a guy message me to say āgive up Kilgore, heās low tier garbage. Even Maximilian is having trouble with him.ā Itās the same old story. āThis character is different, I canāt play him like Jago. GARBAGE TIER!ā People have no patienceā¦
Yeah, the idea behind tier lists is that if both players are playing OPTIMALLY then this is how the matches would be expected to go. Itās not intended to be biblical, or to tell you what character to choose. Kilgore may be high tier, but I still canāt do anything with him. Most players are better off focusing on trying to play better, rather than trying to pick the best character. And as @dayv0 points out, for all but a couple of characters the variance is under 4. Thatās pretty darn good.
Iāve played this with every known spinal. It heavily favors omen. Omenās pressure makes it so spinal isnāt allowed to move. Spinal doesnāt have a reliable aa against omen. Omen has better buttons than spinal. Omen can lock out meter which takes away spinals option to shadow counter which is the only thing he can do to really escape pressure. Omen gets past all of spinal mechanics easily. One opener from omen equals 5 cureses automatically gone whether spinal breaks or not. Orda shield can be used to interrupt spinals pressure. Spinal is stuck blocking pretty much the entire fight until omen eventually opens him up which a good omen will do sooner or later.
To those wondering why kilgore is so high atm.
Heās a chore to get in on for alot of characters. And by the time you do get to him heāll likely be able to deal out great damage due to simply landing a throw. He has one of the best dps in game(if not the best) gets decent mix up potential off of overheats. Has excellent meter gain which leads to attempts to punish his zoning difficult since heāll likely be able to cancel then teleport to punish you. Only thing not good about him are his buttons but everything else he has makes up for it greatly.
I agree his overheat damage is kinda absurdly high. Iām not overly convinced his zoning is so incredibly scary otherwise (I feel like, without meter, he loses to a bull rush strategy and has trouble covering areas around his head), but he definitely makes up for it with overheat or instinct throws. I feel the character is really polarizing that way, and not in a really good way, either. Does really weak damage until one throw makes up 50% 1-chance for 1 bar.
I do think exhaust cancels and non-overheat teleport is pretty cool, though. I didnāt realize how silly overheat teleport was until I watched KK Japan. Itās basically an unpunishable 1-button reversal. He can really stall the fight just by doing it over and over again and thereās not much as a defender you can do about it because he has an unlimited supply while in instinct or overheated.
But I havenāt really been keeping up on Kilgore match analysis, so a lot of this is just theory in my head.
Overheat teleport is nerf meat.
-Huge hitbox(like,launch Kan-Ra sandsplosion?)
-Deals poor damage to Kilgore(REALLY POOR)
-Deals decent damage to the opponent
-Only beated by throw
-Even on block, Kilgore is knocked down, so he canāt be punished. He has another chance
If I have to guess, it will get:
-Reduced hitbox
-Less damage to the opponent
-More damage to Kilgore (maybe even PD)
Oh, itās not throw invincible? Well, thatās something at least. Of course he can still do regular DP at any time as well, so itās kind of overkill, but at least you have SOME (low damage) option if you have a hard read.
The move is still crazy, though.
Thought Iād gotten blown up trying to meaty throw Kilgore on that overheat teleport before, but I donāt really recall either way since the character is so new. Either way though the move is pretty silly. I really dislike reversals that are unpunishable even if you call them out, and the damage done to Kilgore is really low. Even Kan at the height of sandsplosion nonsense could still be punished if he did it in a really bad spot - Kilgore eats his (crappy) explosion damage and then gets pretty close to being back in a neutralish situation either way.
I just checked in training, and you can throw it.
Cool beans. Yeah, I wasnāt sure at all about that, so nice to have confirmation. Probably just mucked up my meaty like a scrub
Any chance of an OS having this for Hisako? @STORM179
Safe Jump - Command Grab/Normal Grab - Parry?
If so, this would prove pivotal in the match up
More data on it:
I imagine Hisako could safe jump + OS influence, though. 13f is definitely long enough to do this.
