Killer Instinct 4

I think a guide featuring all staggers would be great.

I don’t mean to pressure someone but I think @Infilament can probably hook you up with that. : )

Again, as soon as the second stagger hits it is breakable, and the same for any which come after. If you’re getting hit by multiple staggers in a row and you aren’t breaking them, you need to practice doing so.

Besides, in your proposed 20-hit limit, I can theoretically stagger you 20 times in a row; no part of your 20 hit limit imposes any sort of limitation or control over consecutive staggers.

Thanks, I didn’t know that.

Yeah, might want to make sure you know how a mechanic works before calling for its removal in several threads.

I was over critical of your aesthetic preferences last night, and for that I apologize, Vlad.

Reading the exchange about Riptor amongst you two, it occurred to me that the not-so-seriousness is one of my favorite things about this game. I think the devs (gameplay and creative) understand the spirit and history of FGs quite well and honor/represent that very well within their medium. I mention it because it seems like our Riptor IS the happy middle ground between the flavors y’all want without taking themselves TOO seriously - it is, after all, a cybernetic fire-breathing velociraptor in a fighting game with a boxer and a werewolf.

But when it comes to any serious changes to the combat system in an overarching fashion, I just don’t trust the average player. Now it’s me swishing my hair over my eyes, but KI players do not understand the genius they engage with on the daily. Too often do players just not understand enough, and endeavor to know too little. I think more of y’all should thank your lucky stars such a game even exists. It’s criminal that half thoughts like SF get called ESports, and the most complete (without being bloated to absurdity) and intellectually engaging game in the genre has official forums full of pros memeing and laymen pining for changes to mechanics they don’t understand

It’s really disheartening to be here sometimes.

Don’t let that get ya down. :> I admit things have gotten a bit wonky, but this is almost like when KI3 was first announced..and that was awful the way people treated each other.

I think this thread is yet anohter unexpected hype from the next possible KI4. but I ADMIT we’re going waay to far into it. I think we should wait one more year before we even HOPE for a new KI. Though I understand why so many want.

However if you know what to ask there’s still folks here willing to help and improve others. This is still a better community compared to the Halo Community.

That’s a low blow man, could have told me in private but whatever.

I will agree that it may come off kind of mean but I don’t think he meant to be rude or come off as such.

I’ll just say this Vlad, just ask some questions this community is more than just about arguing how a character works. We can help each other grow in skill.

It wasn’t meant to be mean, more of a “well thats cleared up now” way.

Alright man no worries.

Almost every single stagger in the game is a heavy normal, just like how all but one of the flip outs are lights.
If you start looking for then they’re literally the easiest thing to break in the game outside of heavy doubles and mash shadows.

I think what my brother @JEFFRON27 is getting at is that Zeymers design of riptordoesn’t seem to fit very well. Heck that tail looks useless considering it size. and Riptor is known for using her tail in combat. Don’t get me wrong the guy’s talented, I just don’t think it would fit well with Riptors origin which is a human/dinosaur hybrid.

As for this one here, I wanted to convey riptor as an out of control monster. Though the new KI revised her as a loyal yet dangerous creature. unless IGN and Microsoft develop a story were we get a stalker from the first batch rising again and turns out to be stronger than the rest, then a new design might happen.

However, we got along time before KI 4 even happens. We may not even see a KI4 till the next xbox.

I can honestly say that I prefer the new appearances to ALL the characters than their old ones.

On the subject of Riptor:
Of course Riptor doesn’t look like a super buff huge fighter.
BECAUSE SHE LOOKS LIKE A DINOSAUR
She’s a raptor, a dromaeosaur, a therapod brand hunting machine. She’s built like how a carnivorous dinosaur is built.

Raptors were lean, cunning animals. They specialized in “Hit and Run” tactics. They didn’t try and wrestle creatures twice their size to the ground: They’d run in, grab a bite, leap onto their back and give 'em a good shank, and then back off let it bleed to death. They’d try and confuse prey, hit them in ways they wouldn’t expect. Their huge eye sockets even suggested they primarily hunted in the black of night.

And Riptor fits this mold. This is why Ultratech brought the raptors back: To create an infiltration unit that could sneak in and deal with problems a Fulgore troop couldn’t handle. Using their natural strength as predators, enhancing them with a few goodies (cybernetics and humanlike intelligence) to have a lethal package too fast to run from (or trace back home for a counter attack, for that matter). Hell, Jurassic World seemed pretty keen on the idea, too.

And it reflects in her gameplay, too. She can be at an arms length, poking at you with mortars and her super long heavy normals, then in a split second be all up in your face with all sorts of insane pressure. Then when you try to retaliate, she’s at full screen again.

This is why the new Riptor is brilliant: Because she’s not just the big scary lizard monster she was in KI1. Her gameplay, her design, and her story all tie together to make her one of if not the most well realized playable dinosaurs in the history of games. And as a dinosaur nerd that gets me absolutely jazzed.

Hey sh*tlord, stop body shaming a big beautiful woman like Riptor!

instead of a ki 4, i would rather see them update ki 3, but more emphasis on aesthetics like accessories.

@fawfilkins. Iagree with you 100 percent on this friend.

I also do’t see how zey’s design can fit with her gameplay either. Besides the slash claws teeth and tail whips she is also very quick. Naturally the stalkers were already quick as raptors but cybernetics enhances that speed.

Anyway, I think the only change to ehr design was to make the cable that segments her tail could be thicker.

I’m not.

How exactly? I can see it working well.
