Well the problem is it does leave out somehting like Riptors tail being used a s a weapon. Riptor’s tail is like Jago’s sword, or Fulgore’s plasma blades.
Zey’s riptor just wouldn’t do the damage. Doesn’t look healthy enough to really do any harm.
Aside from just being a remake of the original Cinder stage I don’t see how it’d be better beyond just nostalgia. Personally I like Cinder’s new stage even though the original will always be a fine place in my heart. I kinda like how the new current stage tells his story. I don’t know how his original could tell a story other than just being cool.
If/When we get a KI4 I wouldn’t something like this for Cinder’s stage.
Spinal is a skeleton powerd by magic or some kind of force. Riptor is a beast of physical science. Zey’s Riptor..pretty safe to assume it’s not a magical beast..so no harm, just stay back a few ways and it will die of starvation.
I like riptors new look as is, I mean come on one of natures greatest predators now made with the intelligence of a human and the capability to learn rapidly, flames spewing out of its mouth (not acid or poison but what dragons would be spewing out), and she’s part terminator with all her cybernetic augments, that sounds pretty ■■■■ scary to me especially if they were in a pack.
Do not mistake my enjoyment for that image as a dislike to the modern Riptor. I think that design is great. I’m thankful she just didn’t look like a giant feathered chicken. Though with recent discoveries of things I’ve made in my life I do in general find feathered raptors easier to swallow as an idea. But I’d still rather Riptor not be covered in feathers lol.
Back on track my personal ideal design would be a mix between moder and classic Riptor the tail can still stretch but the wire cord that happens as a tail extender needs to be thicker in my opinion. I got use to that though. Aside from that fact I do like the modern look.
However keep this in mind: at the end of the day the devs will decide how they will do the character designs. I just hope with classic costumes they just do their best to take better care and design with the classic model in mind as well as the modern. Be the best way to get a good classic costume without having to tweak the anatomy in a way where it just turns out odd.
Also I get alot of folks love dismissing of Classic Riptor as a “big scary lizard man” though personally I always saw her as a dino hybrid through and through she just had other things mixed in, like snake dna which explains the head and hood and such. As a lover of dinosaurs and modern reptiles in general was one reason I absolutely fell in love with Riptor and how it opened the door to my love for KI. but that’s besides the point:
Aside from one gripe I already got over, I do like the modern look and I think the classic look is awesome to. Just wish it had a legitimate red colored skin and I’d use it more often. : p
I see your point however, that orgianl design idea you suggested as it stands doesn’t look anywhere as good as the other one you showed me. The first one was bad, the second one was a lot better.
Ans the difference between Spinal and the first design you wanted to pitch: Spinal has a chance to come back, that thing will die and never get up again. But to avoid peddling back to a bad argument; I liked the second idea ya pitched.
This is why I felt adding the feathers as an accessories was a win/win and I good job to IGN for doing this. Especially this a fictional game and not a documentary, Do I miss the way the classic Riptor looked? sometimes, but I knew this was not going to look like the Riptor we all knew back in 1994.
and technically, if any of us were actually there starring her in the face, the look should be the least of her worries, its what she would do to us that we should be more concerned about. Heck ta tiger may look majestic, but doesn’t mean it won’t maul somebody if it has to.
and like @UndeadShinobi6 it’s too early to be discussing a sequel. Besides, I think they still planned on updating the game through out the xbox ones life span. At least, that what they ahve been saying for sometime now.
