“You will not be harmed,” said the metallic woman, “unless you try to fight us.”

“You will not be harmed,” replied Tusk, “unless you refuse to go.”

Oh and, by the way, is there a reason this chapte does not have that nice book-like interface? @rukizzel @TempusChaoti

Yeah it caused a lot of problems on mobile and some readers, so we didn’t use it. I’m bummed too, as I liked reading it that way as well.

We will be updating the font on the site to make it friendlier for actual reading.

Actually, while I appreciate the effort to make the book format look nice it took me a long time to get around to it because I couldn’t easily read it anywhere. So I’m grateful for the change.

Ok the layout of chapter 2 was MUCH easier to read. Story was an interesting read

As for Chapter 3…

WIM KUUUUUUU!!!

Update:

Alright so I just checked out the sneak peek of her story. Turns out KiFantic also called it about Kim being a teacher too. Though time out…

Wasn’t Kim supposed to be 21? O_o (unless this happened in an early stage of her story) I thought originally she was meant to be older then Hisako hence the curiosity…

I bet I can guess the premise for chapter 4, “A squid faced alien and a toad walk into a bar and stay there for the remainder of the chapters and get drunk because they’re guests and shall receive no story”.

I have to say I enjoyed reading chapter 1 much more than this one. I think the format played a lot into my enjoyment in just reading the story, but also the old html format is just worn, and just not a fun format to read (imo).

That being said, I had to read this one twice in order to really enjoy it just from a substance stand point. I came into this one with many preconceived notions (my fault), so the first time it was pretty tough to get an understanding of what was going on. That being said, the second time through was much clearer and enjoyable.

I do have a few qualms though, like if Tusk had only been out for 2 years, and he had been to that town before spending his “old coins” presumably, why would AIRA just now get a bead on him? Twitter is more than 2 years old, and so is the general internet, so what? The “news” didn’t find it that interesting that a 7’ tall dude with a sword, tattoos, and old coins was spending time in their town 2 years ago? Or is it that that after his fight with Shago, and the media uproar after that, that his involvement with it caught AIRA’s attention…

It is little thing like that, that get me…and those type things weren’t in the first chapter. To me it just doesn’t make sense as to why / how ARIA caught up with him when she did.

More questions:
•Why is Shago “stumbling” back into that town? Can’t he teleport? Why is he wandering around like a lost bum, killing random police officers?
•How did she notice his hand was burned? Was she at the bar that night? Is the bar close to the “marketplace”? Is the marketplace the bar and Tusk was just calling it that?
•Does Tusk talk with an accent? it seemed like Tusk and the Swedish girl were having a conversation in English? Why? The way it was written just didn’t feel right.

I probably could come up with a bunch of other questions about things that just didn’t fit, but those few things just stuck out like a sore thumb.

All in all though, I liked the story, but this one definitely felt a little less than then the first chapter. Still though, looking forward to Chapter 3.

I think it was the fact that Tusk went in the dark after that fight with Shago is what’s contributing to ARIA not getting wind of him before hand. Sure, she has all-seeing international surveillance – but she can’t exactly monitor someone completely out of the technological loop. It also helps that Tusk has somewhat of an aloof personality – the guy lives in the artic wilderness.

To answer some more of your questions:

It is most likely that Shadow Jago had lost control after the damage taken to his hand and Jago returned back, delirious and unsure of where things were going. We know Jago isn’t above killing someone as the guy’s conflicted with his own internal strifes to even think logically.

Worg-gram could’ve probably scarred Jago to the point of the singes being quite visible. Also – this the burn mark could’ve been the part where Jago finally rids himself of Omen’s control – Omen’s story mentions the shadow energies being used to dispel Omen – which probably came from Worg. The burn was probably the catalyst.

Another thing – Jago does NOT wear gloves. That burn mark could’ve been very visible.

The language thing is an offshoot of the writing. They’re speaking in Swedish most likely and it’s just translated as ENG.

To add onto my post;

MAYBE Aria isn’t evil huh? Maybe she just likes to brute force solutions for her own way, and her lack of moral restraints make them ‘appear’ to look evil. Like Cid in Final Fantasy XII – good intentions but has a REALLY awful way of making things happen.

Tusk is a dumb drunk and he should definitely cooperate with smarter people >:c

So the Ultratech gang–sans Cinder (who’s AWOL) and Sadira (who’s probably plotting with the Astral Lords gang) all got bodied by Tusk. We know Jago strolled by like two years ago and is…somewhere with Orchid, Maya, and Combo with the Disavowed stuff. Sabrewulf, Thunder and Aganos are in Europe and dealing with that jerk Mira. Spinal’s MIA – is he free from Ultratech’s control? --, and the rest of the newcomers from S2 are /somewhere./

Got a feeling Kim Wu and Spinal will kindle their old rivalry in the next chapter, and probably team up to deal with Kan-Ra who’s probably controlling Spinal – If story lore from Trailers mean anything. :stuck_out_tongue:
I can already imagine that team: Bones and the Short Kid.

Huh. Stinging projectiles from a fulgore unit with a projectile weapon? Does this mean tusk is bullet proof? Lol it sounds like he is being hit by a BB gun from that description

Now I’m imagining Tusk riding the snöskotor like Rash, but with a completely stern face.

Tusk’s flesh was forged by a God Race of Starlike crystal beings who sing as they make life. He swings something comparable to Mjolnir. His sword is named after a BearWolf for godsakes lol. I think its absolutely possible Tusk has a certain level of invulnerability. Aquaman skin…maybe even Superman skin.

Bending down he placed his hand on Warg-gram’s familiar grip. The blade was frozen solid to the ground, but he ripped it free with a mere flick of his wrist.

Sorry if I had to leave this here…

These are so good.

Oof, no "book"format for the new chapter?

#let’s not get crazy

Also I just want to say: This novella, In my eyes is the spiritual successor of the KI comics.

Damn, I don’t even like Tusk but this was a good read. It was interesting, funny, and very well written. I could see every little detail in my head as if I was watching a movie.
