You just have to delay st.MP slightly for it to work on Mira. Honestly a little too tedious for my taste to even attempt so I don’t even attempt it on her. You are correct on it not working on Raam and Tusk though.
I tested it on everyone. It’s a mess
clutch, st.MP xx whirl works somehow on everyone except
Fulgore (sigh) and Raam
It’s easy to do vs the rest of the cast except those characters below
Wulf, Spinal, Mira, Hisako, Kim-Wu, Arbiter, Gargos, Eyedol
-Wulf, Spinal, Mira, Hisako, Kim-Wu and Eyedol require a delayed timing for the MP to hit
-Arbiter and Gargos require a delayed timing for the MP because otherwise whirl gets buggy and reset both characters to neutral.
There are 2 other strange things
- hard whirl misses vs a lot of chars. I don’t know why because the in game frame data tells me they all have the same start up. Frame data might be wrong…
I recognized this when testing the combo vs the last characters and so I haven’t tested it vs whom hard whirl misses because I didn’t want to go through all chars again. - Rash seems to be the only character that can only be hit by a medium whirl. hard and light both wiff.
I didn’t test clutch, cr.MP xx whirl because it’s annoying. You guys can figure it out yourself. You gotta earn your swag

So since I’ve picked up kan ra I wanted to see what I could get off of my enders. This character to me seems very set up heavy and I like that. The next coule of videos are ideas on what I could get on his wall splat ever. His carry linkers are very good, however they do a lot if KV. please give me your thoughts:

His whirl linker is bad IMO.
It adds too much KV, takes way too long and the worst part: If it gets broken Ra gets knocked down.
It has good corner carry to get a knocked down opponent to the corner in between rounds (always do that!) or to get a dead body to the stage ultra zone but that’s it.
What’s Ra’s best ender depends on his opponent.
Low to mid level players eat a spike ender into cr.LP xx clutch all day.
If they are any good I give them the swarm ender into mixup or clutch ender.
I never use the wall ender. Gotta work on that…
I’ll consider expirementing some wall splat set ups. These are interesting. Got some inspiration.
Interesting, you are right about that linker doing to much KV. I can’t get anything besides a pushback and I don’t think I want to sacrifice damage or a swarm mix up than a pushback. I did wall splat because it seems like kan ra is best when the opponent is cornered and he has you spaced out.
Nasty overhead setup:
clutch, dash, l.swarm, instant forward j.MK, land and press whatever you want to combo.
j.MK hits fast enough to be a decent overhead IMO
J.MK will hit meaty and allow the swarm to hit. Your opponent will still be in hit stun after you land and you have enough frame advantage to combo into whatever you want.
J.forward MK should also be safe vs DPs although I didn’t test that yet.
This also works after a shadow clutch ender!!
Doesn’t MK win against DP’s From certain ranges?
Yes it does. It has a pink hitbox, which are unique to Kan-Ra.
I’m aware of the hitboxes. I just didn’t know it would win at such a small range unless you super jump.
I just found out that Cr.HK causes a hard knock down vs airborne opponents.
I came up with the following setup and made a video:
Lvl 2 swarm ender,
somehow land the clutch and swoosh forward with it,
follow up with l.spike. Your opponent will fly into the shadow swarm. Use that time to walk forward a little bit.
Cr.HK xx m.swarm. Your opponent will hit the ground with a swarm on top of them.
Move forward a little bit and as soon as they start to get up dash forward. You will launch forward making that swarm a super nasty cross up.
No you just gotta use a long range normal to continue.
Did you test this?
Yes. You can’t quick rise
Then this set up is clean.
Did a sequence including a lot of stuff I am working on at the moment.
It uses 3 hard knockdowns, 3 cross ups, several resets, a ghetto overhead and one (or two?) bug/s. And @JINXHAND might like it.
I like the part where I super jump over him, canceling the j.HP (that doesn’t even touch my opponent) into shadow swarm and land back on the same side. I have no idea what the hell is going on there
That was so dirty i had to sweep my floor after watching it.
I’m actually scared now.
Shut up. Kan-Ra is “low” tier and you are going to get him nerfed more.
