I hate today. The only day when it is “cool” to like Star Wars. Every other day people are just made fun of for liking it.
I don’t picture some big KI announcement. I will be happy if they get time just to say what the 3rd character is. This E3 will be about pushing the next console, and very little about the X1.

In a perfect world: KI2 for Scorpio in November. Redesigned from top to bottom. New mechanics. 12+ returning characters, with 4 new characters, at launch.
Reality: The last DLC character for Season 3.5 is unveiled with a closer than expected release date.
Games take years to develop. They are currently working on KI 2013 still. There is no way they’ll release a new character for KI and then somehow release a full blown sequel built from the ground up a few months later… come on dude.
Agreed, KI3 kinda circumvented the standard 2-3+ year dev cycle by releasing the game little by little. If they started over with a new KI at best we’d see something akin to season 1 in terms of the amount of content the game has, and considering that it would be immediately compared to KI3 as it stands and SFV’s shortcomings that it’s been blasted for, my guess is anything short of a full experience right off the bat for KI’ s next installment will be met with a pretty negative backlash.
I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
Its going to be the final character that has not been released lets be honest. Season 4 has a chance but it is very unlikely
If a new KI Sequel is going to be worth a ■■■■, it’s going to take years to develop it. If there’s going to be a change substantial enough to warrant a proper sequel, we won’t be seeing it any time soon.
So we might as well have another Season in the mean time. Keep the game alive with tweaks and goodies, add fan requested features like more Ultimates or Online Training, keep people invested for a while longer and make sure this game is as good as it can be so we have the best version of KI we can get while we wait for KI4

My dream is a KI2 annoucement. The reality is that it’s probably just the last DLC character for Season 3.5
it’s too soon for a sequel IMO. KI is only 4 years old… & has been getting updated with new content since then, essentially making it its own “sequel” in every season. (when you consider what fighting game sequels are, i think it fits… after all, we get a new Blazblue practically once a year, that may as well be the equivalent of “seasons”)
new characters were added just this year, with at the very least one more character confirmed as coming soon… BUT if the new character really is the last one, then KI should still go on for at least another two years i think. this will allow the meta to develop as the updates slow down, which will allow people to approach the game in new ways and dismantle certain characters and matchups and get into the REAL crazy ■■■■. Marvel 3 meta didn’t start getting nearly as crazy until people were given a few years with it.
maybe they could start developing a sequel during that time but i don’t think announcing one so soon would be very beneficial for KI. not to mention all the people who would be ■■■■■■ about hearing a sequel is coming when this version of KI isn’t fully feature-complete yet…
it’s like if SF6 was announced before any of the remaining 3 DLC characters in season 2 were announced. sure, all the people who hate SF5 would celebrate (maybe, or they’d just laugh), but all the people who are enjoying it now and were looking forward to its growth and expansion now have to deal with the announcement that basically confirms that their game is going to be abandoned.

the only MEANINGFUL announcement would be addition of new significant content to the game. Not quality of life stuff, but new characters, new music, a legit STORY MODE, something along those lines.

Since EAGLE HAS BEEN REVEALED AT COMBO BREAKER 2017, I wonder if Iron Galaxy has something else on their sleeves for E3 2017… SEASON 4 ? Or, just a gameplay reveal of EAGLE and release date for the character?
I hope the IG has much more meat on fire for KI. It would be sad and desolate to know that Eagle is the end of this game.
What made you think why Eagle is the end of this game?
Kev - many dont think there will be another full season or even smaller DLC packs with more characters/stages, etc…
If we assume that’s true, Eagle (teaser shown today as you probably know) could be the last “major” update we get…(not including new items for shadow lords…
