You can play multiplayer against AI too, which might help.

FYI I chose the Knight faction. You can use any of the samurai or Viking characters, but you have to pick a faction.

My favorite part about the Factions thing is the fact that you can play any of the character classes, but your wins/points/whatever go to support an overarching ā€œteamā€.

The Knight faction gets my sword considering my personal interest in the european medieval period, but Knights, Samurai, and Vikings all have classes that I want to play. I would be disappointed if I was limited to only choosing characters from my Faction, even though that would make a wonderful thematic mode on the side.
