My original post still stands. I’m talking about people endlessly complain about a game they’re playing until another fighting game or a sequel is released in which they endless complain about said new game or sequel. On Eventhubs right now, there’s an article talking about SFV’s incoming Season 2 balance patch with a poll asking will the changes be enough to entice people to return to the game. The vast majority of the comments are all negative. Just garbage complaints about the game and some might be valid e.g. lack of depth in character creative, but the vast majority is complaints about how it should’ve been perfect at launch and blah blah blah. Maybe its just a generational thing; the people my age, 80s babies who remember a time when games came complete for some reason now expect perfection in their games today. As I recall, SFV got tons of complains about only releasing with 17 character! SF4 launched with a similar amount, but for those of us who grew up on NES and SUPER NES, do you recall a time when SF2 launched with only 8 world warriors? When Guile could pull off a Flash Kick while walking without ever crouching? And how you had to buy a whole new version of the game to get more characters? KI launched with barely anything, bare bones single player (survival), 6 characters and that’s roughly it. Yet Iron Galaxy gave us Shadow Lords, ultimates, additional characters, more modes, and another original character in a month’s time. My original post Fighting game complainers could be retitled Today’s Whiny Entitled Gamers because its across various genres and even console wars. Not every company gets it right the first time that’s why they have patches (Mass Effect Andromeda’s recent patch for example), not every system gets it flawlessly such as MS’s original Xbox One policies which I still feel today were a vast smear job as just about everything gamers reviled the original Xbox One policies for has come to pass. I mean, who buys discs any more? There’s a reason why Gamestop is going down and it has to do with console digital stores (which is reflective across all retailers. When’s the last time you’ve been to a JCPenny?)
As one of the above posters commented, the forums is where CONSTRUCTIVE feedback is to be sent. NOT TWITCH, where you complain for the entirety of the stream to your large audience about how crappy you feel the game’s become nor Eventhubs or any other place. And if you can’t take the game any longer then just stop playing it. Move on to Injustice 2 or KOFIV or Tekken 7 where you can join the other people complaining about that game.
