Eyedol MU: Scublord Report

What lows does he have that isn’t from a crouching position outside mages ground lightning?

Also, you basically just said “I can’t do anything” which is an exaggeration but a mile and a half. Focus more on your ground game with sadira then. His overhead is 23frames, leans on the the slower side of overhead speed.

DP is safe? What? Have you not checked the frame data? Like at all? It’s right there in training mode…

Tell you what, you show us a video of you vs an eyedol, don’t care for skill level and let’s see this sadira of yours in action.

If you want a good laugh, I’ll put up a couple of vids here.

Maybe it was he could cancel into DP, so the DP caught me when I tried to punish.

I don’t know what it was that hit me low from a standing normal, all I know is he was standing and kicked me low, cause I was standing and blocking at the time. Unless I got hit with that blocking disabled BS that happens.

I’ll find some recent matches and show you just how often combos get dtopped too. It’s obscene.

I’ve got a few vids on my youtube, most of which are my fails through S3. You can check them while I get some other matches put together.

I’m not looking for laughs. I’m looking for solutions.

No one wants to laugh at you, we need to see how you play against an Eyedol to give you tips, without knowing how you play we can only make base suggestions which may or may not work depending on situations.

I know you guys aren’t looking for a laugh, you’ll have no choice but to laugh.

Right, I’m getting vids put together now.

Ok here they are. Gather your tissues and keep all sharp objects away from you when watching this.

As you can see, there are plenty of FU’s with combos dropping and misinputs as well as the worrying about the MU.

The last match in the first vid has the infamous overhead that ptotects from crossups, I think.

The last match in the second vid, I actually try to respect the spacing and it still goes one-sided.

I have next to no approach, I hardly ever try the crossup because of the size of Eyedol and then I’m that worried about my autos connecting that I’m broken most of the time, as none of counter breakers come out or they come out when they’ve already locked out.

There was one fight where I tried to AA with a recluse and it got stuffed anyway and the only thing I can do about the jumping HP is spin attack under them, which leads to nothing.

So yeah…

Alright so I watched both of them…some things.

Stop jumping so much. Play some of the ground game. Just walk a little. There are times to jump, there are times to walk. I wager…80% of your games were in the air…tone that back to 50-60% instead.

Manuals, learn to use them. After a jump-in use a manual to avoid instant breaking or a linker. You’ll get more lockouts then you could hope for against mashers (just like in these vids).

Manage your meter better.

Start shadow countering more often you get meter back so easily and quick in KI it’s ridiculous.

Use blade demon to sail over low lightning from the mage and punish him. Spacing is required here. Blade demon is lower body invincible on the 1st frame.

I think I saw you use a recluse for AA once for both vids.

Dropping combos is the norm so that’s fine.

Try toning back breaking on the first breakable move. You were getting locked out so quickly and taking so much unnecessary damage. This habit however can be hard to break because the psychological part of it is “if I break now I avoid 90% of the damage”. It’s not a easy habit to break, but I would start doing it. Everyone still does it, doesn’t mean it’s the best course of action. Have some patience.

Relax, play the ground game some.

I knew the manuals was going to be mentioned.

Like I said, I fail at autos so often, so I just mash the autos and hope the combo happens without even trying the manuals.

I really don’t know what to do about the ground game. In my eye, Sadira has no ground game. I know that’s not true, but I’ve seen some random stuff that makes me come to that conclusion.

Shadow counters are a thing I’m working as I know S3 requires that.

Instinct is something I have no clue about, since I can’t mixup a trapped dude fast enough or delay my combo because of how often they get dropped.

If you don’t want your combos broken the moment you enter the combo game, learn manuals. It will help. It’s a guarantee. There’s no need to mash. If you mash, then you’ll just ■■■■■ yourself up in the long run.

Ground game, play more patient. Inching your way towards someone, walk them down. Then be ready for a jump-in. It comes with practice as well.

Shadow counters will help a truck ton. That’s also a guarantee.

Instinct can be used whenever you want. Be creative. Sadira can jump cancel almost any move she wishes with it.

There’s eamples of how bad the jump cancelling works for me. The gane refuses to jump cancel and I just jump up and down like “kick me, kick me!”.

I’ll try building up the ground game and shadow countering more often.

I’ve been trying the tiger knee throw juggle and it never happens any more. I mean you can see in those vids how I out right fail at the juggles and it’s only recently that it’s been happening as well and I have no clue why.

Thabks for the analysis, I’ll be sure to post up the progress.

If you toss out a web then try to cancel normals for whatever reason it doesn’t work. To get around then do a normal then cancel into a special then start jump canceling again. Should work.

I don’t do TK shadow bites so that’s on you.

I mean I throw the opponent and try to tiger knee a web cling into a juggle, but even my normal juggles are dropping too.

@Sanguithal
That’s one of the challenges in KI, especially if you’ve been playing since Season 1. The game was more high octane SF then, while it’s a lot more anime now, I’d say. It can be difficult to adjusts, especially since some MUs don’t feel like MUs, they feel like you are playing a different game. Sadira vs Jago is one of my favorite MUs, but Sadira vs Kan-ra is a game I hate playing and would burn if I could. And now with the craziness of the Season 3 characters, there may be more adjustments to be made. I don’t know if you play ranked, but if you are just playing for fun and enjoyment, it’s good to go into exhibition and find the MUs you like to play. Especially since it appears the Season 3 characters are being released as the Season 2 characters where, that is with obvious broken stuff that will be patched/balanced later and then you won’t have to spend an hour in the lab dissecting it just to have it disappear in 2 months, ie: auto-barrage, sand trap, bugs, flame carpet, daggers, eye lasers, call of the sky…

Ki is tettering on the line of anime and SF type games.

Do you mean throw->TK widow’s bite? I’m pretty sure throw->web cling for a juggle isn’t a thing  If you do mean widow’s bite (which is the kunai), then this is actually one of the tougher “links” in the game I think. May want to go for a simpler juggle option if the throw->TK shenanigans stuff is giving you issue.

In terms of running Sadira’s ground game, you’re basically just looking to take advantage of her walk speed (good) and footsie buttons (great). Sadira has good pokes, and because demon blade sails over lows, you can crush a lot of buttons that people tend to like to throw out in neutral. Definitely use Sadira’s aerial mobility, but it will help you a lot of you’re at least passably familiar with how to handle her on the ground as well.

According to my stats, Jago is my worst MU, but I put that down to so many people picking him up.

I only play ranked. I doubt exhibition would be advised, as I’d have to mute myself with all the screaming at the screen I end up doing.

Big problem is none of my friends play it, so my only chance to train is in ranked. This is after they got S1 for free and one of my friends bought S2, yet they still don’t play it.

That pretty much goes over my head, since the last fighter I played was Alpha 3 with a coupke of friends on his PS1.

Yeah, widows bite juggle.

Oooops.

I never really saw it as that hard to pull off at first, but now it nigh impossible. That said, normal juggles after the launcher is almost impossible for me now.

I’m sure there’s some connection stutters in these vids above, but it’s far better than that rediculous slow motion thing that happens every now and then.

I found this video Sanguithal and I thought I’d post it here to cheer you up.

I respect that instinct combo
