I’m a little disappointed its eagle… mainly due to the fact that it will bring some closure for thunder… which is something he has never gotten… I kinda liked that. All other games always have heroes getting what they want… but thunder always had something to strive for trying to find out more about his brother. I guess it was eventually going to happen… but meh…

I’m not particularly interested in any of the KI lord or eagle. But I am very interested to see what they do from a gameplay perspective with an archer.

Have never been excited about Eagle, but “magic archer” was always the archetype from the survey I was most interested in. Thus, I am now hype for Eagle. 
Also: that theme is straight fire!

Eagle is not a Cyborg guys. He’s closer to Neo from the Matrix if anything. Those circuit board-esque designs are similar to Glacius and TJ Combo, however Eagle has already been described by A.R.I.A to be the pinnacle of the Human condition. A perfect Human Trophy in terms of physical prowess and warrior intellect.
Eagle is like Neo from Matrix meets Winter Solider.

BTW, I’m on the Eagle hype train too. I just hope his gameplay fits me, unlike his brother.

Gotta admit, I’m more than just a little puzzled as to why they just didn’t show the entire trailer (or better yet, have a playable build of the character on the show floor). This is the most important event of the year for KI not counting KIWC, and the character is coming out some time within the next month apparently. The tournament itself is named after KI.
I was really expecting a full trailer after grand finals and was pretty sad when it didn’t happen.
If it’s not in their plans to release the trailer now, then I have to call into question their plans. There is no time in the last 3 months when more FG fan eyes (especially KI fans, when we had a Sunday slot!) were on a single event than today. I suppose there could be a trailer during CEO or E3, but I would have expected a playable build there (which means the trailer is better shown earlier). Doing a trailer at E3 will just get lost in all the other millions of news stories about the hundreds of other games at the event.
I’ve been strung along by KI teases for 3 years now and this one feels like a pretty big letdown, sorry to say. I think we’re way, way past the point when you can show 10 seconds of nothing, say the character name on twitter (not even in the teaser itself, so nobody in the venue has any idea), and then call it a day and tell us to check back in a few weeks.

Fulgore WAS Eagle up until season 3 when they retconned everything. lol
Why else would Aganos’ story mode say they were looking for Eagle in all the Fulgore units at Ultratech? “But Eagle was not among the fulgore units” or what have you. XD
Either way I’m happy, he’s going to be a neat character and certainly better than yet another remix. Plus it looks like they took our suggestions for an archer and melded them into one design.
Yeah… I’m not going to go through explaining this again. Simply put they’ve been saying Eagle has been alive and his own entity since season one. The characters themselves not knowing the full story doesn’t change what thunder’s endings clearly stated. but all the same I’m also very happy that he’s his own character and not a remix.
I’m wondering though… 29 characters, that’s a pretty uneven number to leave the roster at. hmmmm

No, they never explicitly said Fulgore was Eagle. In fact, they never mentioned Fulgore in KI3 at all as being a cyborg. It was mostly assumed because in the old comic Eagle was Fulgore, but in KI3’s lore their connection was simply hinted at. There was no retconning, just some very carefully placed wordings that led people to make wrong assumptions.

Regardless in season 2 it was basically confirmed that Eagle was Fulgore. lol
Orchid tells Thunder that Eagle isn’t dead > Sends Thunder on a mission to find Eagle > Aganos and Thunder meet up and start ripping apart Fulgores looking for Eagle stating specifically that Eagle was not among the Fulgores they were fighting. They might not have explicitly said it but it was so heavily implied that you’d be crazy to think otherwise. I mean they wouldn’t be sifting through Fulgore scrap unless they thought Eagle was one of them, I guess maybe they thought he was one of them but wasn’t? Who knows maybe it was just a big troll like the Eyedol thing?
Whatever the case I don’t want to argue it but we were all led to believe he was, obviously after the novella we know that’s not the case but whatever I’m happy he’s finally a real boy.

Okay, I will either catch flak or a ton of agreement on this, but I really wish this game had at least pre-match lines or interactions like… most other fighting games right now.
Like, now we have Thunder’s brother, who’s brain is a part of Fulgore, and who is also infused with Glacius technology, and other than Shadow Lords none of it is really going to be addressed.
Like, outside of Eagle, Think of things like Gargos and Eyedol/Jago quotes, or Cinder and Glacius finally squaring up to each other, or more Rash at all gonna be honest give rash one for everybody I’m biased for rash
I know it won’t happen it’s just kinda disappointing to me.

it just feels like clone characters are half-finished characters to me. I realize Im being a bit hypocritical since I mained Shago and now am maining Kilgore but theres an internal and external component to a character. Sure Shago and Kilgore have a lot of “internal” differences to the characters theyre based off of, but externally they feel like spin-offs instead of something new.
Like the Teen Titans Go of fighting game characters. And thats why I’m disappointed with “Eagle”. To me, hes either an expy of Fulgore or Eagle. Remix/Clone characters like these go HALFWAY to the finish line, which can be a lot more frustrating than a character thats simply bad.
Except a lesser extent to Shago, evil ryu characters get a pass.
