To give you an example, @FallofSeraphs76, my character is a self-styled “Paladin”, with focus on fighting with one of two Greatswords and/or a frost straight sword. My left hand holds a shield most of the time, but I carry a built-up chime because I also cast various Miracles. Check out my earlier post with my character’s stats on it. Although I’m now level 102(?) and the stats aren’t accurate, the general strategy of points has remained the same.
My weapons are STR/DEX/Faith based, so those are important places to put my stats. Faith also helps my Miracles.
I have a secondary focus on heavy armor, and I also put a lot of points into Vigor and Vitality. I still need to bump up Attunement for more FP (blue bar) and to be able to assign a third spell.
What would help me to give you more specific advice is to know a bit more about your playstyle and the way you approach different situations with specific weapons, besides just your stats. @Nightswipe0 is correct in that if you’re looking for a small amount of magic use besides healing (and yes, Heal Aid will become useless fairly soon unless you’re running very low Vigor) the weapon buff spells would be helpful assuming you don’t have a weapon enchanted with the element you need at the time. Although you may need to sink points into INT/Faith, I personally find it useful, personally.
But like I said, you may play in such a way that magic wouldn’t really work with your play style. I’m unsure.
Well I like to play fst comboat like Bloodborne. In Bloodborne and Lords of the Fallen, Im best with a fast Saw Blade / Axe that is medium weight around 3.0lbs. I like to get in quick , take about 3-4 hits and get out to reset my stamina. I really enjoy the Skill for the Axe were you Buff up and it give you more stamina.
I dont have my stats on me now but I can look at them tonight and reply.
I currently have 2 Axes with elements…1 has the Fire element I had as my Starting gift and the other came from the Mimic and had the Dark infusion. Like I said, Im most comfortable with an Axe or a sword that swings int hat style. I do not like poke style swords. (I did go ahead and buy the ■■■■■■■ sword from the thief since I read that’s what you are currently using times 2.
I also like to have a ranged Magic attack very similar to Lords of the Fallens Magic gauntlet Projectile shot. Which is very similar to Bloodborne Double Pistol. So I am very good at switching from Shield to projectile very quickly during combat.
Im also fairly decent at parrying… but as you know sometimes its just not consistent lol
I like Armor that is not too heavy but is just about on the thresh hold of too heavy. I need to be able to take a hit or two.
I got back on Bloodborne last night and WOW! @xSkeletalx I really wish you could play this game after you finish DS3… its just absolutely mind blowing. I dare say its worth buying a PS4 for just having that game!
I haven’t entered NG+ with that character yet and finishing the game the first run with it is fine. Possibly even doable with a nerf.
But I can’t really see myself running around with it and finding it super useful in NG+6. I haven’t put any fusions on it either, Just a good old slabbie. Might work out though, time will tell.
No I have it… I haven’t missed anything up t the point Im at…I have everything you find and can not buy. Ive even picked up all the knights armor and pole sword.
But Im back on Bloodborne for now. Its just so much more fun and interesting IMO. Made it to the Forbidden woods and Im at the last little stretch to the Boss “Shadow of Yharnim”! i understand he is supposed to be really hard to defeat. the last few have been kind of easy since Father Gasgoinie anyways… he was hard to beat! OMG that was a frustrating battle!
Also finally got my Saw blade to 3 Gems and added fire to it. Oh man its so beast right now. My Axe is just 1 level up away from that point as well.
Definitely possible, but I will tell you, that is one of the best boss fights in the entire series, in my opinion. I thought the mechanic was pretty unique, and was honestly surprised at the first “reset” of Stage 2.
Yeah it was special for a soulsboss. I quickly figured out that the mechanic would be that of big guy taken down, hit small guy until he bring big bro back up again. It might be nostalgia talking but my best boss of all Soulsgames is probably the gaping dragon in DS1. That design
Just thought I would share a couple of screenshots of my just-beat-the-final-boss character! My go-to gear is now the full Havel armor set, with a +10 Drakeblood Greatsword, with lightning and chaos greatswords on deck, plus several other elemental weapons. T anky, stabby paladin has worked out well with my build, even against PVP invaders!
I’m planning to hang around he first playthrough for a while, farming up souls/levels, shards, gems, missing armor bits, you name it. I’m also going to see if I can track down missing rings, gestures and spells to complete all of the achievements, though I may also create a brand new character to play in a different way, like a dodge/parry build with pyromancy, for example.
