Babymetal for ki, now!

What a ■■■■■■■■■ for nothing…

Gothic lolita is an example of cloth styles, some users posted here…

Lets stop with this non-sense.

Think in a girl with those clothes and umbrella, thats all, now chill.

Ahhhh Internet…

facepalm

The musicians are god like, the vocal is great.
They won lots of awards and have tons of positive reviews from western metal magazines.

Maybe its just not for your taste, they are FAAR to be garbage.

The funniest thing is a Lolita wasnt even up for debate at ms
I do like that witchy scythe thing tho

Honestly, and I’m just trying to be objective here, but I don’t think it’s the idea, but rather the packaging around it that seems objectionable.

When I hear stuff like gothic, Victorian witch? Absolutely! Sign me up. I really want to see a witch type of character, and some mix of Earth goddess and Victorian could be a cool take on that trope.

Major props to @OmegaSaiko for the pictures to really help conjure the image of the look being talked about.

I could also see a character of this ilk joining the steam punk accessories club with Sabrewulf, Tusk and (I guess? Kinda?) Kan Ra.

But when you package these ideas with the term “loli” it doesn’t conjure the best image. People have mentioned it being short for Lolita. While I’ve heard of Lolita, I have to confess my ignorance with regard to the term loli as a colloquialism, so I looked up “loli” on Urban Dictionary and this is what came up:

loli

 1. short for lolicon

 2. hentai that contains underage females in sexual situations.

 3. an underage child, often depicted in sexual poses in hentai movies/images.

 4. “I saw some loli the other day, I swear to god that girl had to be no older than five!”

 5. Stacy was too young for Brad, but thats ok because he likes lolis.

Soooooo yeah. If this is anywhere close to the idea that the term conjures in people’s minds, it’s no wonder the sentiment being debated is being met with so much resistance. I have zero desire to see a character from this trope in KI and I see no reality in which the devs or MS would either.

I personally like seeing women that kick ■■■ in KI and don’t adhere to some of the old fighting game female tropes like the girl that acts like a bubbly 12 year old but has the body of a Victoria Secret model or the dominatrix that gets off on pain or any of that nonsense.

The fact that there’s none of that stuff in KI is actually a selling point for me.

However, after reading this whole thread, I tend to think OP was aiming more toward the clothing style as opposed to the rather sizeable baggage that comes with the term, even though he voiced a rather enthusiastic approval of a loli character or a stupid rich girl.

Again, strongly disagree with those ideas for KI, but honestly OP, it’s okay. You threw out an idea. No one’s looking to excommunicate you from the church of KI. When you put something out there, people are going to respond. No need to get frustrated, just keep trying to steer people toward your actual ideas and if they’re still not interested, oh well. We all have different taste. To each his own.

I feel like alot of you guys here have misunderstood what is being asked for.

NO ONE was asking for lolicon characters.
What is asked for was a Gothic Lolita styled character with a Baby (Kawaii) Metal theme.
There’s a clear difference.

not the best example, you could literally swap him out for another animal and not miss a beat.

think about folklore surrounding and behavior of sharks… how can it be applied to his story and play style

Hmm could totally see that for one of Hisako’s alt costumes

This is preposterous.

Team OP: Whereas we understand that “Gothic Lolita” is a thing aside and separate from the generally accepted definition for “Lolita”, you must understand that the word has been in use for a very long time before this particular aesthetic you’re speaking of was a thing, and you may possibly never be able to break this aesthetic’s association with questionable actions with underage females. I’d argue that the name for this aesthetic was ill conceived, or at the very least not well thought through.

Also - Hisako already has a Babymetal-ish alt costume, and Mira looks like she could be Babymetal’s bass player. Do we really need another CHARACTER representing this archetype? Can’t we just have more costumes?

For me yes!
A gothic imature, childish and rich (like Karin) would be great in my vision.

Maybe if her dad (a mad weird doctor) be part of the roster? is also a great idea imo!

I have no limites to think about new ki chars.
Its all depends of how ig will introduce them , and the designs.

Everything is possible.

Right on, and I can respect that - and I hope that I see something more from you in the future that compels me more than “cheeky teen girl in hot topic gear”.

Look that, it represents my idea.
As u can see Gothic Lolita is just a term, not a definition of child and pedos;
Some guys need to do research, expand their culture before ■■■■■■■■■■■■
We’re totally, absolutely aware of this. I even mentioned that earlier:

But this is insulting and unnecessary:

People have listed multiple reasons why your use of the term “lolita” can be easily misconstrued without ample explanation and pictures of exactly what it is that you mean, so you shouldn’t be surprised that not everyone agrees with you. Most of the correct explanation and imagery was added much later than the OP, leaving plenty of room for confusion, as we ended up with. Some of this may be because of a language disparity/barrier.

That being said, someone who doesn’t agree with you doesn’t deserve to be demeaned or their contribution to the discussion labeled as a ■■■■■■■■■■ simply because you don’t like being disagreed with. I also agree with others that between Hisako and Mira we pretty much have the visual aesthetic you’re asking for covered.

For sure, but has a lot of posts like that in this thread.

You guys can disagree, of course, the target of that message was for some guys here that dont know what they are talking about.

Sorry, but i have to disagree…
Gothic-Lolita is not a ghost or a vampire.

No, it isn’t; but some of the VISUAL aspects of the two existing characters are pretty similar to what you’re asking for, enough so that it would be overkill to add a THIRD character who looks much the same.

The same can be said if you look at Mira and Sadira, both lithe human females (one undead) who fight with claw weapons and have an aerial component to their moveset. Requests for trapeze artists or other claw-wielding humans would be overkill.

Only the Dark colors are similar.
Weapons, attitude, design, are different.

If you look closer, ki IS a dark game.

*to you

I’m not sure that the target of the message isn’t you…

Here’s an honest question - since the characters dress in (highly modified but inspired by) period style clothing from the 1800’s which is referred to as “Gothic” (even though the gothic period in art was actually the 12th century and no one at all dressed like this), then what is it you think the Lolita part of the term is for? I’m afraid that the folks who coined the phrase didn’t do it being unaware of the use of that word. So, with all due respect - it absolutely does refer to underage women and pedos and I think it might be you who is speaking from a position of naivete and ignorance on the matter.

I’m willing to bet that the Japanese female star of your slasher film trailer 1. is playing an underage character 2. takes her clothes off and has sex during the film. Am I wrong?

This doesn’t change the fact that you could be asking for a character wearing 1800’s style petticoats in KI. But it’s not really the fault of other people for actually considering all the aspects of what is being discussed. The name of the band is “babymetal,” for heavens sake.
