Are we getting any new content this tuesday?

Or better, they’ll be added free to definitive edition owners!

Or even better, Gold skin owners get a discounted chance the triumphant return of Terror Skins!

…wait, no one would do pitchforks and torches over that. It’s too wonderful.

I’m more hype for an event in a FE mobile game than I am for KI updates.

That’s kinda sad. But oh well. I was bound to get off the hype train at some point.

In this plausible but unconfirmed scenario I would assume it would be the people that shelled out $5 a pop for each set of gold skins that would now be cheaper/free would be the likely ones that would dig out the pitchforks and torches.

Personally I would technically fall in that scenario, but the game’s been out for so long now, I see no need to craft any torches. I’ll save my Minecraft coal for something else.

Is it because that FE hype is high, KI hype is low, or both?

That’s just what it is. For a game being close to 4-years old, it slowly becomes less relevant and not as interesting.

I would blame the terrible reveal plan they are following more than anything.

It’s pretty tiresome seeing posts which have a lot of words but actually say nothing real from MS

I play KI daily, but I no longer actively participate in the forums because of MS odd treatment to us and how they handle information.

But heh, “stay tuned”

It’s crazy to think, but Shadow Lords, the sort of final bow on the third season of this game, came out almost a year ago now. Meaning that we’ve been in this nebulous “post season 3” mode for that long, and as a fan, I must say it’s not my favorite way that they’ve presented content.

Now, we obviously don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes, but maybe this last year was full of stuff that is the result of extra budget left over or a change in approach from a flat amount of content to a more free-flowing approach, but if they were going to go with the latter, it would’ve been great if communication had been more frequent and more reliable up to now and through knowing what’s coming down the line.

We get new stuff every Tuesday, except for when we don’t. The same thread pops back up again from someone having to ask because we don’t know what’s happening. But the bigger issue is that as fans, we have no idea where this game-as-platform is going next. Is the platform done? Is there another season in the works and if so, why can’t we know it exists yet? Why not even a title screen? Again, it’s been a year since season 3 ended and all we’ve known is that we’re getting three characters, some ultimates, and some colors.

We don’t even know what happened to the Wave 2 figures from Ultimate Toy. No one has told us anything on that. Now we’re getting a KI comic, which is awesome and it looks fantastic, but the way things are going, would anyone be all that surprised if they put out a few issues and then it just disappeared?

That’s kinda how things feel right now; kinda getting news and being told to wait, and maybe my fandom is giving me tunnel vision. Maybe I’m coming off as angry or entitled, as if I’m a stockholder in the Killer Instinct company and I should know everything etc etc.

I swear, that’s not my intention. I don’t believe that I’m owed anything. That which I bought and paid for, I have received in a highly satisfactory manner and it’s GREATLY appreciated.

My point here though, is that we get used to a seasonal method of content delivery for three years, and now that seems to be gone, but we don’t really know what’s coming next and no one’s really talking to us about it, and it’d be awfully nice if someone could post some sort of textual stream, survey, Q&A or State of KI address and give us the heads up on what the future looks like, where current projects are at, maybe a heads up on Wave 2 or if those Survey character ideas will ever happen, etc.

The @developers have been fantastic at communicating with us in the past, but in one of the more nebulous points in time for this game, we haven’t really heard a ton from Kraig or Adam and it’d be awesome if they could shed some more light, as I love this game and am hoping for more of it.

Sorry if this came off like a rant. I honestly didn’t intend it that way, I swear.

For real. They’ve still said nothing about the extra money people gave them in the Kilgore fund even, over half a year later. And the little they have been doing for the game and its community has been inconsistent to say the least.

I dunno, maybe MS is too busy working hard to cancel the last three noteworthy titles in its exclusives lineup to bother with KI.

I’m not sure if this is relevant but I’m just going to post this here.

I an frustrated with this game because its a game where it’s identity is one of ‘adding on’. I’m an ADHD’r myself (proudly so :winking_face_with_tongue:), and I need new things to excite me and talk about/play to keep me interested.
I have never ever followed a game on a forum before or even really interacted on any with other fans. KI is the first game where I was invested enough over a long enough time to do such a thing, but like @Dayv0 says, the game is losing its way, nothing is clear, fans are starved for new info or closure and nothing is coming. I see more and more regulars in here show their disappointment, but nothing from higher up is done about it…

WHO IN MICROSOFT THINGS THATS A GOOD THING? I’m sure one of the top rules in any company is keeping customers satisfied. Keeping things interesting over a long period of time works like a charm, as season 2 proved, why shift such drastic gear? And if not much else is coming why keep your fans in the dark, I doubt they will appreciate it, to the point they might not even bother with a new KI if there ever is one…

Which is a shame because KI really is a wonderful game…

I have a suspicion that Wave 2 figures were silently canceled. Because Ultimate Source was recently giving codes to Cinders extra color, colors that are usually exclusive to buyers of the toys. I really hope I’m wrong.

whatever your selling, im buying… just take your time fellas!! your doing GREAT!!!

Indeed. We’re only up to Super: The Final Challengers right now. We still need to get to Anniversary Turbo Revival Ultra HD Remix before we can call KI done.
