So as it has been proven, Killer Instinct’s marketing is fine as is.

No, you would be able to unlock a certain number of characters via xp. Season 3 characters wouldn’t be a part of this, only 1-2. You’re not just given them. You have to earn them by playing the game a lot. The average person would have to play a month or two to unlock just one character.
False. Killer Instinct (2013) for Xbox One - Sales, Wiki, Release Dates, Review, Cheats, Walkthrough
If new PC players don’t carry this game financially, this game is probably done. The future of this game is most likely fully dependent on how well this game does this season. Don’t expect them to tell you this or admit to it at all. They will deny it all the way until they say it’s over.
Except the tournament scene also has a stake in KI’S success to. Which btw is vastly growing.
I highly doubt that they are depending on PC palyers to carry this game financially did you see how much we raised for the community fund for Shago to become a real character and that was just console players when that happened. I feel you seem to have missed a lot of what this community does plus this game has another EVO spot plus it has plenty of exposure at other big gaming tournaments. This is MS main fighting game they will do all they can to make this game thrive since they have no other fighting game to fall back on.
2016 is only 4 months in, so the numbers don’t add up yet.
Its been like that for every season.
If the game isn’t profitable, they won’t make more more seasons
Its been profitable for 2 seasons now. Its been so profitable that Capcom is copying its strategy.
Season 3 might be the last season. But it won’t be for the reasons you described.
Going by the sales figures, no it’s hasn’t been profitable at all. That’s probably why they switched devs and have had so many different dev teams working on this. MS has been eating the losses to have an exclusive fighter for their platforms. You need to sell millions of copies to break even on a AAA game. lol Not 20-100k.
What sales figure? To my knowledge, they haven’t posted anything.
The switch developers because Amazon bought out Double Helix for their gaming division.
Dude what are talking about!? lol
The majority of Xbone players have spent all they’re going to spend save for season 3 content, which won’t even be enough to cover the expense of making season 3, most likely. lol Yes, it has to do well on PC to have a future. And btw, I do plan on buying all the content at some point. So, no, this isn’t about me not wanting to pay. Please, I have hundreds of games on steam, most of the AAA titles bought at full price. ![]()
Switched devs Amazon bought out DH is the reason they switched devs your argument here seems to lack a lot of info. Plus you have to remember MS didn’t invest the same amount of money Capcom and Sony invested into SFV so the loss margins are far from being what you are trying to make it seem.
Seriously, you’re sounding very foolish about everything.
Why are you spending your time and energy posting pessimistic stuff and outright lies?
The reason they switched developers is because DH got bought by Amazon. They weren’t allowed to work on KI anymore.
Also, this is not a AAA title. It’s also not an indie game. It has this sweet little home in the middle that suits it just fine.
As was stated by someone else, if the game wasn’t profitable, we wouldn’t have 2 additional seasons.
Their contract was not renewed before the acquisition, so what are you talking about? lol
You must be talking to yourself. Feel free to leave this thread. No one is posting pessimistic stuff but you. I’m posting things based on reality and facts.
Oh dear… dear oh dear oh dear.
I’m posting things based on reality and facts.
But you’re not. You still haven’t produce any sales figures at all to show evidence for your conclusions. You’re just ranting.
Microsoft didn’t renew the contract with Double Helix after KI Season 1, because they wanted to wait and see if it was worth it. They needed to know if the game would sell. However, Double Helix was then offered a contract with Amazon, which they jumped on, because they couldn’t afford to wait.
Because of that, Microsoft had to find a new team to continue working on KI, hence why Iron Galaxy is now working on it.
… What does that have to do with any of this though?
I’m posting things based on reality and facts.
If that’s the case, you need to post reliable sources to back up your statements, so people can see you’re not just making stuff up.
Actually I did, learn to read.
There is no point of explaining any more I think we are done here enough has been said to back up everything I am sure they are going to say some other outlandish thing about KI that will have us coming back to correct this person lol
