Yeah, Glacius wins the matchup with Tusk in my opinion. I’ve played the matchup mostly from a Tusks side but here’s the issue: Tusk is a mid range bully and Glacius is a mid range zone. Glacius is less spacing dependant and where Tusk NEEDS to be is exactly the best place for Glacius to have him. Cold shoulder, hail and shatter all beat Tusk’s spirit step. And cold shoulder has the range and speed to punish whiffed sword normals. And Glacius is one of the few characters that can almost keep up with Tusk in terms of damage. So it’s not one of those situations where Tusk only has to open up Glacius 1/3 of the times that he gets opened up.
I think even more, Glacius cultivates a patient play style. He has to just put up with certain things and wait for the right moment and then he can respond quickly and with a lot of pain. But Tusk relies on you to panic and hit buttons or jump into his deflect or sword normals. Most Glacius players are already well trained to deal with the bullying.
So, yeah, it’s not unwinnable but I think Glacius is at least as bad a matchup for Tusk as Hisako - and everyone acts like that matchup is horrible for Tusk and counter picks Hisako.
