This may be borderline off topic category but I just watched sub zero intro vid for Injustice 2, and his intro with Cheetah is in the subject.. is it a coincidence or shots fired??

I just see it as She is part animal, and alot of animals have an instinct to kill. This comment has as much to do with KI as the old show on fox that was also named Killer Instinct.
Sub-Zero makes MK remarks to over half the cast. There is a Sindel, and a Shang S. remark also.

I’ll make this clear before it gets out of hand, I only find it amusing.. I do believe it is only coincidental, but, very very interesting none the less..
His reply especially… to have engaged in MK more than merits his KI..
Btw I would like to know if Cheetah ever uses that term elsewhere in here intros

Wish this meant we would get an MK guest in KI. I’d love Fulgore in the next MK instalment too. Nice little easter egg regardless though. Respect Netherrealm. Possible nod to Maya’s outro too? maybe thats reaching…
We can’t even get easter eggs in for our own fighters let alone giving a nod to another franchise as a sign of respect.

The interesting thing is that this is literally the only time cheetah comments on killer instinct.
I think it is a small reference. It’s like if subzero called red hood a “street fighter” trying to insinuate that he is a simple inexperienced bar brawler. Yet we all know it’s a reference to the actual street fighter game.

Well Ed Boon did say on Twitter a few years back that he thought KI vs MK would be cool, even if it was only a “for fun” comment.
I think it’s probably a fun nod to a fellow American FG.

Oh this is def not a coincidence. Ed boon isn’t watching this video and going " oh no way! Look honey! they both brought up fighting games AND one referenced a catch phrase from killer instinct! What a stange, unpredictable coincidence!"

Probably just a reference to KI out of mutual respect. I imagine everyone in the industry plays another company’s games. It isn’t as though you as a musician would not listen to another musician’s music.

…so long as they steer clear of the combat…everything surrounding NRS games…the features, the cinematics, the accessories, the modes…they’re all top tier, but IMHO letting them handle KI’s combat would be a downgrade.
