What is considered "good" Internet speed

I haven’t checked on the Xbox but my pc and other devices are 0 ms via ip. Speed test though varies 35 - 80 ms.

Download and upload speed don’t really matter for gaming. Most important thing is your ping.
And if you are using wireless, you should stop playing fighting games. Seriously.

Ok I will stop playing fighting games because I can’t get a wired connection.

There are tons of companies that offer gig+ speeds commercially, not just Google Fiber. Unfortunately, most are in very specific locals.

I played wirelessly (yes, even in fighting games) with little to no problems on my end for YEARS.

While I do recognize that having a physical connection is better, it isn’t necessary so long as the wireless connection is strong and stable.

That being said, my family spent $300+ to re-wire our entire house for ethernet access to ensure that we had a strong, stable connection. While it’s certainly better, the difference is almost negligible, with the sole exception of this game.

This game was unique - with such a great netcode, I would consistently get dropped at least 1 out of every 5 fights. That no longer happens since we “upgraded” to ensure stability. I find that a bit ironic because no other game did this (even games with 64 player counts, like Battlefield 4), which lead me to believe that the game itself (rather than my connection) was artificially cutting me out because it didn’t think my connection was good enough, when it was (according to EVERY OTHER GAME IN EXISTENCE). I even STILL suffer from this artificial in-game limitation whenever I go into lobbies - if more than 4 people are in a lobby, I get auto-kicked, which is incredibly frustrating, especially since I know that the game has great netcode and that I’ve played in games with far more players than the maximum of 8 in Killer Instinct.

Speaking of the “upgrade” it’s kind of weird, because wireless is supposedly the way of the future, and yet the fact that I had to rewire my whole house and basically go backwards to get a better connection is something that I find a bit odd…

Oh well…
