No, I did not. I directly said that Jago wields a sword. That would make him a swordsman. There was no implying of anything else.
I highly doubt the Guardian would just be a floating sword. Its a possible storyline extension, I kinda want it to be an evil guy that takes the sword and has to struggle against it to use its power. Could make for an interesting character mechanic.

I’d be down for a ninja character, but not one that also worships a different colored tiger spirit, otherwise you’re just making a clone of Jago.

He is both. Even the guy that created him, Kev Bayliss, says that he is a ninja who does some “monk-ying” around.
Why does it even have to be associated with an animal spirit? Why not a ninja on its own with no connection whatsoever to them? It could be anything like an urban ninja or a cyber-ninja or something. My advice is, focus on one thing. Think of gameplay, moves, weaponry, etc - don’t just spam other character ideas from other games.
